Happiness is

Warming one's belly on the fish tank light.  Comfort and fish to watch when/if one can exert one's self sufficiently.

However, as I loaded the photos I was strongly reminded of this:

Perhaps Jazz was an elephant seal in an earlier incarnation.

  2. Mine is sleeping in the wheel barrow so my garden rubbish is sitting in the middle of the lawn beside it.

  4. Jazz has such a look of contentment!

    So does the seal though.....

  5. Your wise attitude and photos have helped me today.

Have you tried Reiki from a person who self-treats regularly? That is more important in my experience than that they are a Master, expensive, or well known. If possible where you live, consider learning it yourself. It really did improve my life, and is said to be good for MS.

  6. Thanks Kath - since Jazz came to live with us this is his most common look - except when he is fanging me or slashing me when his look can better be described as fiendish joy.

Thank you Cloudia. I will have to follow up on Reiki.

  7. Hi EC,

Jazz looks remarkably like Jasper - my huge monster of a cat - who is not too disimilar from your final picture either (if I were to shave his fur off).

    :0)

    Cheers

  8. Hi PM

There has been some surreptitious cloning of cats going on. Ampersand Duck said that Jazz and Jewel were clones of her Padge and Pooter, Library Girl has just posted a picture of Jewel on her carpet and we have the Jazz/Jasper/Elephant seal issue. Though when we acquired Jazz his name was Jazzpurr which made me unwell.

  9. The elephant seal could be an almond meringe. Just a tad saltier. Jazz is a cutie.

  10. Oh! Too funny! I hope Jazz doesn't go fishing?! Jazzpurr...yeah...ow! Speaking of cat cloning, I think my 2 black ones might be distant relations as well. Although the most recent addition, who is black and white and sharing the physique of an elephant seal more with each passing day, seems to share Jazz's personality. He has actually left bruises as well as puncture wounds. Hmmm.... I hope Jazz doesn't maul as well as slash! Nice kitty... and please stick to the canned fish...

  11. Paper Chipmunk: Jazz likes to admire the fish but fortunately doesn't go fishing. He does however bruise me as your black and white moggy does. Sigh.

  12. I once lived with a cat who started snacking from the back of a fish tank. (Not to make you paranoid or anything.)

Bummer about the bruising Jazz. Does he suddenly get aggressive and attack you? That's what Dominic does. One friend suggested I read tips on dealing with mountain lions to figure out how to co-exist better with him... :-(
I should add that we got one of those pheromone diffusers that you plug into the wall, that people use to discourage spraying. He noticeably seems calmer when it's working--or at least he hasn't attacked me since I put in the refill a few weeks ago. Maybe it's a coindcidence, I don't know. But thought I'd mention it.

  13. Thanks. I will have to chase up the pheronome diffusers. Because that is just what he does - suddenly, for no apparent reason he starts to sing and launches into attack mode. And 99% of the time it is me he attacks.

  14. Interesting. Dominic only attacks me--never my husband. I hope the diffusers help!
