Sunday Selections #107

Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.

The meme is now continued by River at Drifting through life.  The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent.  Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to River.

Like River I generally run with a theme. Today it is Friday night's sunset.  It is getting hot again (drat it) so it was still too hot quite warm when I went out with my camera.  But worth it.

  2. You can feel the warmth in the pictures ... they are beautiful and so glad to see you getting out for a breath of fresh air and a few moments spent doing something you love. I have been following your posts, sometimes with horror (since when do theyt give tranfusions for dehydration ... never, never). I am a nurse and the care your SP is getting and the treatment of you is appalling. I certainly do hope you file an official complaint and I would go over the head of the hospital administration to a an oversight organizaion involved in certification. As I recall your previous accounts of SP's first surgeries were similar and they have done nothing to change it. I am so sorry that this difficult situation is being amplified by incompetence. I say a prayer for both of you daily ...

    1. Andrea: Even when the ugliness is at its worst, a few minutes watching the birds, the cats, the garden, the sky work their magic. (Just as well.)

  3. And, I forgot to mention, I went over to your "Tuesday Tea with Mistress Snark" and roared with laughter. Your answers were brilliant ... You should write a book. You certainly have the imagination for it, as well as a way with words. I will be at the front of the line to buy it, if we can ever talk you into it. You are an inspiration ...

  4. Dear EC, ah, I see you found beauty to share with us. I'm hoping that you are also indulging in some silliness. And I hope most of all that things are going better in the hospital for the smaller portion. I hope that he, despite being a male, has some appreciation of your role in getting him better health care. Peace.

    1. Dee: Beauty and silliness both. I will put up a silly post (or two) next week. At the moment I am pretty certain that the skinny one just thinks I am making a fuss. Sigh. But I need to do it - for him and for me.

  5. Totally worth it. What a fine subject, those two trees up the hill.

    1. Joanne Noragon: I was standing in the middle of the road, having a fine time. Those two trees feature in many of my photos. I think they are perfectly positioned to showcase so many things...

  7. These days, when I see you have a new post up, I take a deep breath and get ready for whatever might be coming. Today, gorgeous sky pictures of a breathtaking sunset. Now that's a MUCH better way to use my breath! Very good to hear you are hanging in there and can enjoy a few moments of respite. :-)

  8. Gorgeous!! Love them all, but that first one is my favorite. Love the silhouette of the trees, and the entire composition and colors and light - downright mystical. Thanks for taking a break long enough to photograph and share it!

  9. A beautiful pictorial reminder to me that day follows the night, just as a more positive light can shine on the darker times and promise a new (hopefully) brighter perspective on things.
I needed this today, thank you.

As for February, I wish a speedy progression through this uncomfortable month. Autumn is just around the corner, but still to far out of reach - for my liking anyway :)

  12. Oooh, how nice! Well worth the trek.

The first crocus of the season has just popped up in our yard. Bright yellow and cheery. Please arrange to send over some of your heat so my emerging bulbs don't die! Win win.

    2. But it is fun to share - lol. Hopefully by the time it gets to you some of the sting is taken out of these 40C+ days we are scheduled to have. I'm hoping they got it wrong and it will not reach these temperatures. xxx

    3. Kakka: I hope they got it wrong too. However, have you noticed that the weather boffins are MUCH more accurate about temperature than they are about rain?

A cat decided to move in with us this week . . . I thought of you, Jazz and Jewel. He's already the boss.

  28. Well, when hubby retires, I had The Coast To Coast Walk across England on the top of our travels, but your sunsets and birds constantly keep nudging my travel plans lower and lower. Oz is gorgeous. (Let's not talk about the heat). Please kick a few people in their obstinate bums (at the hospital) for me.
