Starting with birds. I do like Crested Wood Pigeons, and was pleased with these photos. It seemed to be having a bit of a bad feather day around the nether regions though.
And then to the sky. To an almost surreal sky, which changed by the minute...

DeleteAll the sky photos are great but the first couple, what an amazing arrangement of clouds. I have some photos to post of crested pigeons but they look like different birds to yours. I expect the key word is 'wood'. I only saw them in Melbourne about ten years ago and they are now quite common.

Alexia: The Crested wood pigeons are quite common in lots of Oz. A subtle charmer. Less vivid than lots of our birds, and quieter too. And isn't it amazing how fast the sky changes...

DeleteThe first sky photos look like what we call a popcorn sky here. Progressed though to look more like a stormy sea, full of waves and drama. I've not seen a crested pigeon. The tufts up top are cute!

DeleteThe bird is beautiful, but the skies are just awesome. They do look fantastical...strange even the first two...but gorgeous. I've only ever seen those types of clouds twice, but both times were this year and always either before or after a bad storm.
ReplyDeleteTerri @ Coloring Outside the Lines: Not a drop of rain did we get. I was hoping, but it stayed dry. I don't think I have ever seen those formations before. In an earlier comment Strayer told me they were 'popcorn' clouds - which I can totally see.

On the first look today I enjoyed your pigeon shots then thought the first sky images were paintings, beautiful painting where the artist had dotted gorgeous golden yellows across a blue canvas - such is the nature of sunsets - exquisite artwork in the sky.
