Sunday Selections #438

Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.

Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image.

The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life.  Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle.

The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent.  Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.

I usually run with a theme.  This week I am returning to bus trips.  Or more accurately walking to and from bus stops.

These colourful murals brighten the bus stop which is now closest to home.

I took these one chilly morning (on my way to the dentist) at the first point where I changed buses.

Another early morning trip to town.  I liked the spiderweb of fairy lights illuminating this arch.

And smiled when I came across this wintry tableau - inside and away from the weather.

I am going to finish with some early morning shots from home.

I was fascinated to see that a lower hill was dusted with snow, while the higher ones were snow free.

Enjoy your weekend - and the week(s) to come.

  3. Those murals are really appealing. We are starting to see murals a little more in Canada, but based on what I see on line we have a long way to go to catch up to some other areas of the world.

More lovely skies to enjoy. We are about to have a hot week (well, hot for the UK), so to see some cooling images was perfect timing.

    1. DJan: The polar bear roared as people went past. Not a frightening roar, but more along the lines of 'hello'.

  7. I always love your photos - murals, clouds, snow - all of them. Polar bear that says "hello"?? Squee! If I'd seen him, I'd try to smuggle him home with me. :) Thanks once again for taking me with you on your walkabout.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. River Fairchild: That bear was big and would have been difficult to smuggle. I think his friendly roar was attached to a motion sensor which would have added to the challenge. There was however a smaller (and silent) cub in the enclosure...

  8. They are colourful, happy murals enough to brighten up the dullest of days. :)

  16. Do you know what the fuzzy critter is in the second mural shot? I don't recognize it but I like it. What a lovely sky in the second last shot of the Sister Trees (as I think of them ... although, perhaps it's one tree that splits into two?)

You were out and about very early. And I suspect had some long walks again. Grr.

Speaking of Grr, was that a real polar bear (stuffed but real)?

Okay, that's too many questions and I'm over my quota. Have a good week, or as good a week as you can, given the continuing dental torture. Hugs, dear friend.

    1. jenny_o: That is a stylised (but totally recognisable emu). I think of them as sister trees too. I think it is one split into two, but they grown separately from the ground.
I think it was a totally articial polar bear. Which suits my wimpy self just fine.
And yes, the long walks continue. And will continue.
