Sunday Selections #470

Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.

The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life.  Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle.
 
The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent.  Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen. 
 
I usually run with a theme.  February/March are festival months in my city.  Last night (continuing the light obsession of my previous post) we went to Enlighten, and spent a happy few hours wandering through the illuminated Parliamentary Triangle.

You will be shocked and surprised (not) to learn that I took a LOT of photos.  This post is mostly devoted to quirky colour and fun. 

This orb is a permanent fixture at the front of our National Gallery and I take a photograph of it each time I see it. 

There were a lot of inflatable objects this year.  I am not sure what these depicted, but I found them intriguing. 

I liked the rainbow arch too - with old Parliament House behind it.

This peculiar contraption was a kaleidescope, and the next few photos show the images I took looking down the view finder.

There was more Enlighten colourful quirkiness (some of which I liked and some of which left me cold) both at the Parliamentary Triangle and in town.  However this post is already on the long side, so I will hold off until next week.

I am going to finish on an excellent note.  On Thursday the fire nearest to us, which had been burning for eighty days, was finally declared OUT.
