Sunday Selections #515

 

Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.

The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life.  Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle. 

 

The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent.  Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen. 

 

I usually run with a theme.  I am continuing to focus on public art - this week close to home.

 

These are all from an indigenous drop in centre (and the public benches near it) beside our local shopping centre.  The building has been heavily and I think beautifully decorated.  Sadly it has also been desecrated and defaced - which is a rarity here.  I didn't take photos of the most damaged walls - which had also had holes kicked in them.  I cannot help wondering whether the celebration of our first peoples had something to do with the destruction.

Nearby (on the police youth club) a very different culture was on display.

Both brighten the landscape - but my preference is for the indigenous art.

I have also continued to delight in the early morning.

Needless to say I have also been in the garden (our eight foot sumo lilies are in bloom) but I will share/inflict those photos on you some other week.
