Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files. Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image.
The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life. Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle.
The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent. Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.

That was the year that was. It is New Year's Eve here. The new year will come in without any help from me - I am confident that she knows the way and needs no special invitation from me.

DeleteYour garden is spectacular and I am impressed that you have year round flowering. Do you not get frost in the late fall? I have to cut all of my flowers back in the fall and they lay dormant all winter ... then of course in the spring they become spectacular again.
ReplyDeleteI too am disappointed that we can't get together. I didn't realize you lived 400 miles from Melbourne. My visit is too short and limited to go outside the area where we have planned. Maybe, at least we can hope, I will be able to return to Australia again and have the time to travel the distance from Melbourne. I would also like to go to New Zealand . So sorry , Sue 😒

Andrea @ From The Sol: We do get frost. Months of frost. It cuts some things down to ground levels but other hardier plants keep blooming. There is a begonia on our front verandah for example which bloomed for 365 days last year.

messymimi: Thank you - on both counts. Believe me there are some plants for whom my thumb is decidedly black. I seem to be unable to keep maiden hair ferns or gardenias alive as just two examples. I no longer try, embarrassed at all those I have killed.
