Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files. Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image.
The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life. Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle.
The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent. Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.
I usually run with a theme. Autumn is here. We are having cool nights and mostly sunny days. Bliss. And I am delighting in the autumnal colour (which I call arboreal fireworks). I live in a leafy street. Most of our native trees are evergreens (Australia has just one true temperate deciduous native tree – the deciduous beech or Fagus found in Tasmania).
Just the same, there are plenty of imports to enjoy. Again, come wander with me.
Blogger continues to exhibit some irritating quirks. It sends comments (including my own) to spam, while letting some spam though. I cannot at the moment subscribe to follow up comments. And it chose the order for the photographs in this post.
Just the same, there is beauty in the world. I hope you find it, and colour and joy in your week.

DeleteYou bring back for me memories of wonderful Australian trees, Sue. My most vivid recollection is of the gum trees that shed their bark and the piles that build up at the base. Not good when wildfires strike, I am sure, but a wonder for a visiting naturalist to see.

With great relief to me, since I'm the worrier. I love autumn colors too. We have not yet really gotten spring here. A couple below freezing nights, still raining, I think we've switched to being two seasons here.

ReplyDeleteYou live on a very colorful street. I was very impressed by the different colors and shapes of some of the trees. I love that there are both reds and yellows together in several of the photos. And those purples are out of this world. Simply stunning color and photos, dear friend.

DeleteAutumn is such a wonderful season, isn't it? Cool nights and sunny days sound like true bliss, that's the way I like it. We are very lucky that in our area even in summer the nights are cool except when we have heat spells which fortunately don't happen too often (let's hope it stays like that). All the photos - no matter the order - are beautiful. The path in one of them looks very inviting, I'd love to walk down that one. I hope you can enjoy many more days of these beautiful colors. ReplyDeleteJuli: We are at 35.2802° S, 149.1310° E, so not far off equivalent. More of our trees are donning their winter garb every day. On Saturday I hope to make an outing to see them from our lake.
DeleteAutumn is bitter sweet for me. The colours are glorious but Mrs N is not here to see the brilliance of her favourite dogwood. That is a reality i still struggle with.
