Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files. Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image.
The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life. Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle.
The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent. Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.
I usually run with a theme. This has been another busy week, with a myriad of appointments and some chasing up of professionals who haven't done what they promised. Yesterday morning I had to have yet another blood test. Remembering a truly beautiful tree outside the pathology centre I took my camera with me.
So this week is yet more autumnal colour and some left over summer blooms. It was a grey and overcast day - but some of the colour really popped.

Manuel: Thank you. There are three churches in that area - within a hundred yards of each other. All of them are in modern 'repurposed' buildings but only that one has a mural on its side. I do delight in colour - and welcome it whenever I find it.

DeleteBeautiful, Sue. I often think that colors pop so much more on gray or overcast days. Sunlight can be harsh and burn out colors. The colors in your photos are beautiful - this is why fall is my favorite season.
ReplyDeleteCarola Bartz: Autumn is one of my favourite seasons too - and you are right about bright sunlight washing out some colours. The claret ash trees look brighter in the sun though.

The colour in the second photo does really 'pop'. Lovely photos. If autumnal tree colours didn't herald winter, autumn would be perfect.

DUTA: The colours really lift my spirits - as does the fresh cool air. This is the only church that I am aware of that has a mural but I like it too. It is otherwise a very drab building. They join in Floriade (our Spring flower festival) too.

DeleteI've only ever seen the leaves turning colors when I visited New York with my late husband. We have tree's that lose their leaves around here in the Winter time but the colors like on these tree's you shared just aren't around here. It was so fun to see it. I hope you are well.
