Sunday Selections #790

Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files. Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image.

The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life.  Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle.

The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent.  Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.

I usually run with a theme. This week?
Today is Wattle Day, and the first day of Spring.  On a windy day last week I went for a meander in the neighbourhood.  Spring is definitely here - and bursting out all over.  The air is deliciously scented, and more colour comes out each day.

And to add to my delight, Batty got a clean bill of health from his latest vet visit (much to her surprise) and yesterday morning not long after first light I spotted a rainbow (or part of one) in the valley below.  I don't think I have ever seen a rainbow quite like it.

I hope your week is packed with colour and joy too.

  2. River Fairchild - Batty has made an astounding comeback from where he was at! I’m sure it’s due to your unwavering attention. He’s definitely a fighter!
Spring has sure arrived for you! Hopefully summer won’t come as early. Late would be ideal. All the blooms look spectacular.
Hugs to you, my dear friend. So glad the tension over Batty has eased for everyone.

  9. Color and a healthy Batty. What more could you want.
Why is there a fence blocking that sidewalk?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Mike: It would be greedy to ask for more wouldn't it? If you mean the fourth photo down, the fence doesn't block the path. A change of direction (a bit of a dog led) is all that is required.

I suspect I do the same every year, but spring seems early to me this year. The wattle seems to be at the correct time but exotics seem early.

  24. Hi EC - I do love it when Spring comes around ... but there's so much to see as Autumn approaches and then cold bleak winter ... but all part of seasonal life. Your neighbourhood looks a delight - gorgeous range of plants, trees and shrubs - while the rainbow is pretty strong for that part! Cheers and have a more peaceful week ... Hilary

  32. I am SO happy Batty is doing well - so well even the vet is surprised! What a turnaround. You must be so relieved to put down the worry boulder for a little while at least. Is Odie happy that Batty is more like himself now?

Spring is really bursting out in your neighbourhood! I would love to experience the scented air you describe, and all the colours, in person. But your post is the next best thing. Thank you for sharing it with us, dear friend :)

    1. jenny_o: It really was good news and when the vet expressed her surprise it reminded us of just how sick he was. Odie is happy now - and trying to tough Batty up. Batty shrieks for our assistance (but gets few kicks of his own in). I am glad to share the wonders of spring and there will probably be more in the coming weeks. Take care, sister across the seas. And hugs.
