This week I am continuing to put up photographs of street art. I am still in the same small bit of town as last week.

I remember there being some great art near the National Gallery as well, especially that gorgeous suspended ball that changed colour when you looked at it from different angles. I will have to try and find my photos of when we visited and maybe post them next week in Sunday Selections. I am also loving the autumn trees in your photos. xxx
ReplyDeleteKakka: I loved that ball at the National Gallery. Sadly it got hit by lightening and shattered. There is a new orb up there now, but I don't think it is as good. Canberra does Autumn well.
DeleteI hope the lost reader is repaired and restored some day. I have fantasies of that sort stepping off curbs and being hit by a bus.

jenny_o: I am suffering from brain death today. I have several facts in my head about these artworks and I think they are completely unreliable. I will check when I am in town on Thursday and report back.

ReplyDeleteWindsmoke: The mural was on both sides of a fairly unattractive service alleyway - I loved the dragons though and had a fine time snapping away. Hopefully that third reader will come home again.

DeleteI'm enjoying your street art selections very much. Some of those painted murals/graffiti are excellent. Like the otheres, i think that the trees are still the best art of all :)

ReplyDeleteRon Dudley: Both today's selection and last weeks were in an area of perhaps two blocks. Each corner had a new treat, and teamed with the autumnal foliage it was simply lovely to wander around.

The autumn colours in the trees are great. I was in the foothills here today and saw some amazing colour, but it was raining a little so I didn't get the camera out.

DeleteWhat a fabulous part of town to walk around in...I love those lighted little droopy cones and all the people statues. I just want to sit down beside the guy with the hat.

DeleteLove those readers but they're all pretty good. Makes a big difference to public spaces if art and sculptures are chosen wisely.

DeleteThank you. I think my favourite (though it was hard to choose) are the white conical tusky things. I have been making some very similar shapes out of southern ice porcelain but mine are only about the size of your thumb.
ReplyDeleteKim: They are not only white. Sometimes they have pink light beneath them, or yellow, or blue. I have not yet worked out whether it changes with the time of the day or is random.
