Sunday Selections #401

Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.

The meme is now continued by River at Drifting through life.  The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent.  Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to River.  Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.

Like River I usually run with a theme. I have more photos from recent excursions to show you (lots of photos) but am reverting to a long standing obsession this week.  The sky.  A very, very vivid (and brief) sunset to be precise.

Going, going, gone.

I am still largely absent from the blogosphere, but hope to be back in the next few days.

  6. I read the most interesting comment on phone wires in pictures. I hate them and to to great lengths to "get under the wire". This author said, they're there. They're life. Get over yourself.
I may have to do that.
    Hurry back.

    1. Joanne Noragon: Life does indeed include wires. And other pitfalls. Like you I try and avoid them. And often fail.

  43. have you ever seen a green flash at sunset? i think it only happens when the sun is setting into the horizon. i just googled it and watched a couple of believable videos along with an obvious fake. i saw it faintly when we lived in Darwin

    1. Kim: I have read about it, but never seen it. For some reason (probably wrong) I had in my head that the sun had to be setting over water.
