Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.

The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life.
Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle.
The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent. Post

I
usually run with a theme. This week has been a tad difficult on lots of fronts (not least because Jazz is running out of lives). We are now in lockdown lite so I demanded a roo fix. And of course the weather didn't co-operate. On the first day we could we headed down to the lake. Our spring rains has meant it is much greener than usual. I am so very glad we went.
Beauty, solace and heart balm - which I hope that all of you have close to hand as well.

DeleteIt's all beautiful, even the drifts of dandelions which will soon be puffballs and blow away. Is that first roo a baby? He looks young. I like the duck closeup, and the gorgeous skies reflected in the lake.
ReplyDeleteRiver: Those yellow drifts are Capeweed - and will not turn into puffballs. They are pretty but a nightmare. It is invasive and can cause problems for animals and people. I think the first roo was young, but cannot be sure. Driving down I mentioned to himself that I thought the reflections would be lovely. I was right.

I can't imagine how exciting it would be for me to see wild kangaroos just hopping around. I hope I get to see Australia sometime. It is such a diverse country with magnificent landscapes. And the people are friendly and down to earth. My new endocrinologist is from Australia, and my doctor told me she has a wonderful accent. I'm looking forward to meeting her. I think she's Chinese. DeleteThese are such beautiful photos. It shows the beauty of some places on our planet. If only it could all be so peaceful and clean and lovely. I cannot imagine coming upon a kangaroo living free. Wonderful! Are they friendly? I dont know what those golden weeds are, but here we have something that looks similar, maybe the same. Counties plant them in medians, and call them groundcover. It does make for beautiful! Some people plant in their yards instead of grass. They only grow a couple of inches. Thanks for taking me along on this pleasant journey.
ReplyDeleteJ C: The golden weeds are Capeweed. They are very pretty but cause some people and some animals problems. The kangaroos are not friendly precisely but these are certainly used to people. I wouldn't corner them (they have an impressive kick) but am very glad to see them.

Getting out and about always works wonders, and so glad you can do that now. I love those dear kangaroos. They gave me the biggest smile. The little duck is cute and the scenery beautiful! Everything looks lush and green and gorgeous skies and clouds! I enjoy resting on my benches and taking in the surroundings. A fallen tree would definitely suit me. kylie: It is heartbreaking. Fortunately most of the time Jazz doesn't know he is sick. He has two chronic conditions now - which can be managed but not cured. At the moment we are only just managing them. That tree seat was an excellent find wasn't it?
