Sunday Selections #518

Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.

Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image.

The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life.  Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle.

The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent.  Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.

I usually run with a theme. We have had a few very damp days.  The garden and I loved it.  Jazz did not.  As I so often say come wander with me.

First in our garden where I delighted in the bejeweled plants.

And the wind spinner complete with spider webs and rain drops.

The snail was enjoying the weather too.

Then to a different (and damper walk).  I had yet another bloody medical appointment - but found beauty on the way.

This appointment was close to yet another of my cities man-made lakes.  Lakes I am very grateful for.

I hope you find beauty and serenity in your week(s) to come.

I usually run with a theme.  Last week (on my birthday) I demanded an outing which did not involve doctors or other medical professionals.  A kangaroo fix was the obvious answer.

So we headed down to the lake.  It was a warm day and there was not a roo to be seen.  However there were pelicans.  Two of them, totally oblivious to the mad woman with a camera and her partner.  Pelicans, silver gulls and the occasional duck.  Bliss.

I was fascinated by just how dexterous their grooming was - and loved the 'upside down' poses.

And, just because, I am going to finish with another begonia which is decorating our front veranda.

I hope your week is packed with colour and with treats.

Still true after all these years.

This is a repost from rather a lot of years ago.  Some of you will have seen it, some of you will not.  However, as my title says, it is most definitely still true.

Very, very personally.  Whether they admit to the acquaintance or not.

Which means that this next gem is also true.

I use those difficult people (too many of them family) to take a kind of personal audit.  And it is overdue.  At the moment I am not liking my bad tempered mean spirited whinging self.  At all.  Action is required.

With a little help from...

And how I wish the winebulance was an option open to me at the moment.  Ongoing nausea means it is not.  Big, big sigh.  I can see an opening for that business - world wide.

Sunday Selections #516

I usually run with a theme.  As I will this week.  First and foremost however apologies are in order.  I neither responded to your lovely comments on my last Sunday Selections nor visited your posts.  I have been unwell and couldn't muster the energy.  Several specialists and multiple tests later I am still unwell, and the cause is a mystery.  It is early Saturday morning here.  If, when Sunday rolls round I still feel foul I will put this post up - but turn off the comments.  I see blogging as a reciprocal agreement and it doesn't seem fair to invite comments when I neither respond nor visit you.

So... back to the garden where for a change I have spent almost no time.

Starting with the eight foot (at least) sumo lilies against the eucalypt in the front yard. The sumo lilies are at the back, towering over their smaller relatives.

The lilies are almost done now, but there are other things coming into bloom.

And the sky continues to delight me.

Stay well, stay safe.  I hope to be back very soon.

And, as a postscript, I feel not right but better this morning than I have done in a while.  Fingers crossed. Not only do I think that I will live, I don't mind.  Much.
