Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files. Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image.
The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life.
Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks),
and I have accepted the mantle.
The
rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent. Post some photos
under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Sorry I still
haven't succeeded in working out how to do a blog hop. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.
I
usually run with a theme. This week I am being a little big more random. It is finally cooling down a bit here (though the days are still quiet warm).
In the evenings Odie has found a clever way to keep his tootsies warm.
He just tucks a paw into the top of himself's ugh boots. I thought it was cute when I first saw it and he has done it every night since.
So with that in mind I went looking again. I found some pink outside.
The first is our perpetually blooming begonia. The second is a potted Japanese maple. Depending on the light it can look pink or orange.
There is pink inside too.
I hope (again) that this week finds you in the pink too.
Laura Eno - Odie is very smart! That’s adorable.
ReplyDeleteI love all the pinks you’ve surrounded yourself with, both indoors and out. Your photos are peaceful. Thank you for sharing.
I hope you are solidly in your cool season now. We had a few days of warmth and sunshine but now are back to rainy and dreary, a setback for me although you would enjoy it.
Have a quiet and pleasant week - as much as possible - and know that you are thought of every day. Hugs.
Laura Eno: Odie is indeed smart. He is currently curled up in our bed and has snuggled under the doona. Our home is packed with colour. If asked I would have said we don't have any pink. I was wrong. Again. You too are thought of daily.
DeleteSmart cat! I do love the pink elephant biker. Thank you for sharing your sweet life with us. Aloha friend
ReplyDeleteCloudia: That pink elephant is a tea strainer for a single cup. The bike she is perched on is a pizza cutter.
DeleteYou haVe elevated my spirits from this post, dear friend. I'm feeling pretty pink right now.
ReplyDeleteDJan: I am very glad to hear that.
DeleteSmart cat!
ReplyDeleteI think we have a balloon ornament that looks just like that. What are the odds?
Alex J. Cavanaugh: How nice that we have the same ornament. Mine was given to me by the lovely River who knows of my fondness for balloons.
DeleteI am very hard pressed to find the colour yellow in my home and also very hard pressed to find pink. There is one bedroom where I know there is lots of pink and it isn't the spare room or mine.
ReplyDeleteAndrew: I suspect that if I went hunting in the house I would be able to find most colours. I was surprised at how much pink there is though.
DeleteOdie is pretty clever!
ReplyDeleteMarie Smith: He is - and very comfortable.
DeleteOdie is very clever. I love all your pinks! The elephant and the hot air balloon..and all the rest.
ReplyDeleteRiver: You gave me the hot air balloon and I love it. It sits not far from my chair.
DeleteClever Odie :) you found some lovely pinks, a wonderful variety and much enjoyed. Wishing you a great week ahead.
ReplyDeleteDeniseinVA: Clever Odie indeed. I am glad you enjoyed my pinks.
DeleteAh, to have a paw cushioned so comfortably between a heater and a soft bootie, oh my, he's found a good thing. I do like pink! And other colors.
ReplyDeleteStrayer: Odie is very good (as many cats are) in finding ways of making himself comfortable. It is a grey day here today and he is in bed. Batty is curled up on the sofa with himself. I like colour too. Lots of it.
DeleteThe maple is just a brilliant colour in the autumn.
ReplyDeleteI'm amused at your cat with its paw in the Ugg boot, it knows where the warmth is.
Margaret D: Isn't the maple lovely? Odie knows just how to make himself comfortable.
DeleteHi EC - clever Odie ... and himself is stuck with the love of a cat on his lap ... love it. Glad it's cooling off for you. Pretty in Pink ... lots of blooms of varying colours here ... lots of east wind here too ... but today the flag is limp - giving us some brief from the cold chill - in the sun 'tis warm! Cheers and have a good week - Hilary
ReplyDeleteHilary Melton-Butcher: The wind here today was not warm and there was very little sun. The cats were both cosy though. You have an excellent week.
DeleteDear EC
ReplyDeleteCats are very good at finding the cosiest spots to be, aren't they? I like pink and am currently enjoying the rich fuchsia tones. You have found some lovely pinks in your house and garden. The Moomins - I did read some of the books but for some reason they didn't spark the same love as some of my other childhood books. I seem to remember that I found some of the stories and characters a little disturbing..
Have a colour-filled and happy week
Best wishes
Ellie
Ellie Foster: Cats are supremely good at finding comfort. And tend to be a bit selfish with it. I like the Moomin stories and reread some of them most years but you are right - there are some disturbing elements.
sa lluna: Thank you. I was surprised at just how much pink I found when I started looking. Odie is indeed intelligent - particularly where self interest is concerned. Hugs to you too.

ReplyDeleteOoooops ..... warm paws, warm heart, as the old saying goes. Funny Odie!
DeleteShammickite: It took Odie a while to warm to us, but he has definitely done so now - which warms our hearts.
DeleteOdie is too cute. That's very smart of him. Loved all the pictures.
ReplyDeleteMary Kirkland: Thank you.
DeleteThat last line could be taken several different ways. 😄
ReplyDeleteMike: In the pink is a phrase I grew up with meaning in good health and spirits. What other meanings do you know?
DeleteYes, I thought so too, Mike. Nice post though. Happy day, EC!
ReplyDeletee: I only know the meaning of that phrase that I gave to Mike. I am sorry if I confused you.
DeleteAnd a v happy day to you and to Mercy.
A perpetually blooming flower is the best kind of flower. 🌸
ReplyDeleteRosey: Begonias are supposed to be seasonal but that one blooms all year round.
DeleteI love the card at the end and Odie is adorable with that wee paw tucked into the boot.
ReplyDeleteXO
WWW
Wisewebwoman: Odie thinks he is adorable too. That 'card' is a fridge magnet sent to my by a blogger who knows my love of the Moomin family (and books).
DeleteWhat a smart kitty! I like your pinks and need to look for more here. The crepe myrtles are blooming so I'm sure to see plenty of pink ones for next Sunday's selections.
ReplyDeletemessymimi: Crepe myrtles come in some beautiful colours - I look forward to seeing yours.
DeleteThe cat with his paws warming is adorable.
ReplyDeleteI loved your take on pink. Around here we are almost suffocating with green!
Anne in the kitchen: Odie thanks you. We are in a drought here with no end in sight. I would love to suffocate in green.
DeleteGigi Hawaii— I love that shade of pink. It’s nice to have a little cat to play with.
ReplyDeleteGigi Hawaii: Thank you. That cats plays with us as much as we play with him.
DeleteOh ... clever Odie, so sweet, it's wonderful to see.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your pink selection.
Wishing you a good week.
All the best Jan
Lowcarb team member ~Jan: It is lovely to see and thank you. You have a great week as well.
DeleteGreat finds. Odie is adorable.
ReplyDeleteHena Tayeb: Odie will be getting a swelled head.
DeleteBrrr it is definitely getting colder. There was a frost here this morning, crazily early in the season. Odie is so clever and cute!
ReplyDeleteKim: We haven't had a frost yet - and it looks as if our May will be the warmest recorded. I do hope our temperatures keep falling - I want to be able to freeze bubbles this year.
DeleteYour pink elephant made me laugh! And are those the Moomins in your last image? Odie is pretty clever indeed! It does look very cute, too. I hope this week will be a good one for you.
ReplyDeleteCarola Bartz: That pink elephant looks good on the side of a mug straining tea too. They ARE Moomins in the last photo. And a small ceramic sculpture of Little My a little earlier.
DeleteI am glad that other people think Odie looks cute while warming his feet.
What a lot of wonderful pinks! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte (MotherOwl): I was surprised at how much pink I found and glad you liked them.
DeleteI was out of town when this post went live. Odie is a very smart cat. He found a great way to get warm.
ReplyDeleteYou have a very colorful home and garden. I love all the pink with which you have surrounded yourself. Pink my not be your color, but you certainly gave us a lot of great examples of it in your home and garden.
Bleubeard and Elizabeth: Thank you for backtracking when you came home again. Odie is smart (smarter than his brother Batty I think).
DeleteWe do have a colourful home but I was surprised at just how much pink I found.
Oh that's too adorable with paws in the boots, so clever and warm and toasty too. Great fun pink things, and the glass is it balloon so pretty. Stay well and cool and enjoy your week.
ReplyDelete21 Wits: Definitely warm and toasty. The balloon is made of the same stuff as Christmas tree decorations and its name escapes me at the moment.
DeleteOh, I love all your pinks. And that paw in the boot is just too darn cute:) YOU take special care. Sandra sandracox.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteSandra Cox: Very cute indeed. I may have to feature Batty this coming week. Odie is getting a swollen head.
DeleteOdie sure knows how to keep his paws warm. I hope all is well and you're having a good start to the new week.
ReplyDeleteRasmaSandra: Thank you. I hope you week is good too.
DeleteEs una delicia ver como Odie calienta sus manitas, por lo que imagino te seguirá a todas partes hasta que te sientes. jeje.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
Manuel: It was my partner's lap and boot he was using - and he is quick to claim his territory...
DeleteThe paw in the boots is soooooooo sooooooo cute. OMG
ReplyDeleteThe Happy Whisk: We think so. And Odie loves his comfort.
DeleteOdie's "Puss in Boots" impression is adorable! He's such a sleek handsome fellow! How is Batty doing?
ReplyDeleteYour motorcycle-riding pink elephant gave me a great chuckle, too. I see from your earlier comments that the elephant and bike are actually two unrelated kitchen gadgets, but I love the way you've put them together. The elephant looks as though she's whooping with the joy of the ride! :-)
Diane Henders: Thank you. I think that the elephant and the bike belong together (even if they have never been used together). Batty is doing well but we are struggling to keep his weight under control. I can see I will have to feature him next week.
DeleteHow did I miss this post?? I love the pictures of Odie - what a beautiful coat he has - and boots to complete the outfit :D
ReplyDeleteYour pink choices are all so different from each other and truly delightful. I love seeing other people's many treasures that have been gathered up over the years.
That is a wonderful Japanese maple, growing well in its pot. Will you have to transplant it, or will it stay small?
jenny_o: I am glad that you didn't miss it altogether. Odie does indeed have a beautiful coat though it isn't as soft as Batty's. Gorgeous colours though (despite my weakness for black cats).
DeleteI think/hope that maple is a miniature and will continue to be happy in the pot. We have another one on the other end of the veranda too.
