Sunday Selections, brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, is an ongoing theme where participants post previously unused photos languishing in their files.
Anyone can join in, just post your photos under the Sunday Selections title, link back to Kim, then add your name to her Linky list at Frogpondsrock.
Like River, I like to have a theme for my post and this week my photos are largely from a walk I took through the garden yesterday.
And another cockatoo, because they are a source of never ending joy.

And two exceptions. Jazz is in far more photos than Jewel, so I decided to add one of her. The smaller portion says she has a nose like a pig, but I think he is prejudiced because (at the moment) she prefers me.

I would like to walk through your garden with you :). You have a lot of my favourite plants.
ReplyDeleteFrogspondrock: If you are ever in Canberra I would be really, really happy to share the jungle with you.
ReplyDeleteI love the splash of colour your garden is - and the cockies are superb!
ReplyDeleteJayne: Thank you. The colours change with the seasons but we try to always have something in bloom - or in leaf. And yes, the cockies are a joy.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Jewel is about to have a catnap. Your garden is coming along very well :-).
ReplyDeleteWindsmoke: She was having a nap before I was so unkind as to ask her to open her eyes for a photo session. I have (regrettably) weakened and ordered MORE things to put in the garden. A glutton.
ReplyDeleteJewel looks very stately!
ReplyDeleteLove the flowers, and most of all, the joy of the cockatoo!
ladyfi: I suspect it is anthromorphism, but I agree, cockies do look to be very happy birds.
ReplyDeleteYou've discovered, as I did, that greens are the perfect backdrop for brilliant whites and other colours. I love your garden.
ReplyDeleteHello Jewel!
Cockies are happy birds, I don't think I've ever met a miserable one.
River: Thank you. I invest far too much time (and money) in the garden. I think green in all its different shades is one of my favourite colours - so restful and, as you say, the perfect backdrop.
ReplyDeleteJewel is a cowardy cat so that if you were here in person she would be in the wardrobe. A cyber hello she is happy with.
I love cats and the most exciting and interesting picture for me is photo wiht cat. She is so cute and pretty! :)))
ReplyDeleteI can see that you live on the other side of the world. Far too much sunshine in those photos ;-)(I'm just jealous of the beautiful flowers and the exotic birds.) Can I just come and sit in your garden for a while?
ReplyDeleteSo jealous of your thriving garden!
ReplyDeleteShe's a beautiful cat, too. But her nose does bear a bit of a piggishness to it. Love the spring flowers! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the time in the garden. :-)
ReplyDeletePearl
Jewel does have a slightly 'snouty' nose but it's cute on her.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I love a happy looking cockatoo too!
Jewel's nose reminds me of Dr. Seuss character actually, so she looks as if she should be the lead in a book to me. Jewel refused, just to be cool, to come when called, or go to school.
ReplyDeleteSorry. I think I need a nap.
Beautiful pictures, as always.
Ken G: Welcome. I too love cats, and they are at home here.
ReplyDeleteCarolina: Of course you can rest in the garden with me. The only price you would have to pay is a little weeding.
Joni Llanora: Thank you.
DJan: Piggy indeed. (well yes, a bit).
Pearl: Any time.
Kath: I think in some ways cockies would make a better national emblem than the emu. More ubiquitous. Though I love the emu too.
JeanetteLS: Thanks. I am counting on you to write Jewel's story.
love these Sunday images. Your garden is beautiful I am very jealous as l live in a flat and would love a gardenxxLynda
ReplyDeletelynda Howells: Welcome and thanks. The garden is a life saver for me.
ReplyDeletePorcine? Regal, more like. I like cats with unique features.
ReplyDeleteAnd I do love your flowers and cockies. (Which, btw, sounds obscenely hilarious to my American dialect). It is magnificent to see them in the wild.
Paper Chipmunk: Jewel thanks you.
ReplyDeleteGenitals don't take the ie ending here (one of the few things that don't) so cockies is fine. And they are a joy. Yes a destructive pest from time to time, but worth it. And they have adjusted really well to urban and suburban life.
I enjoyed looking at all these pretty photos, the one of Jazz is so cute, the cockatoo, well if I had them in my garden I don't think I would ever leave it, and those flowers are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI am in awe as I see that your stroll through the garden is beautiful...I am in more awe that cockatoos are in your trees. We only see them in zoos and stores here
ReplyDeleteDenise: Thank you, and we are so lucky with our avian visitors.
ReplyDeleteKim @ Stuff: We have had more than thirty cockatoos at a time. Lucky, lucky, lucky ....
thank you for visitng my blog and leaving such nice remarksxxsee you next Sundayxlynda
ReplyDeleteYour garden is so beautiful, Sue. I envy anyone with a green thumb. I've been known to kill cactus. True story.
ReplyDeleteUmm..I gotta agree with Himself. The cat does have a nose like a pig. Sorrrrry! :)
Oh, but it makes me sad to see those flowers because they're pretty much all gone from here. I surely do hate winter. Oh, well, the photos are still beautiful, and they do bring back a taste of summer.
ReplyDeletelynda Howells: Thank you, and see you on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteLou: You are soooo wrong about Jewel's nose.
Snowbrush: I love winter, and will be sorry when summer is here. I am sorry that my blooms made you sad though.
I do think i would love to spend some time in your garden. it may be just what I need right now, all that colour and beauty :)
ReplyDeletepermanently amanda: Thank you - you would be welcome to join me and the other bloggers here (weeding?).
ReplyDeleteI forget that you are having spring/summer now! So lovely--a great garden.

Susan Kane: Welcome and thankyou.
ReplyDeleteCloudia: And a big thank you to you too.
i am so far behind in my reading!!
ReplyDeletei love your flowers... they are so beautiful... the colors so vibrant...
Sherri: Thanks - and I so know how the reading gets away.
ReplyDeleteHow fun to be able to see spring and summer unfold on your blog as Autumn begins to give way to more wintery weather here, and for those of us in the northern hemisphere to be able to share photos of your two favorite seasons with you while you wait for them to return to Oz! (I share your love of fall and winter, but have grown to appreciate spring and summer more than I once did).
ReplyDeleteAs always, your garden is a source of admiration and envy! You really do have a talent, your flowers are gorgeous specimens, and I'm especially fond of your beautiful irises!
Jewel does have a unique upturned nose! I think she's lovely. :-)
Laloofah: Thank you - many more photos to come as new things emerge and flower. And I am so looking forward to your shots of autumn and winter.
