Like River, I generally run with a theme. At the moment early morning is the only time I get to myself. And how lucky I was to see this dawn on the first morning after the smaller portion came home - brighter and more vibrant that many of our sunsets. And much, much nicer than the domestic duties I had earmarked the time for. Trotting out with the camera was much more rewarding. And a whole heap more fun too.

EC, I would have to shove aside my duties and grab the camera for a sunrise this colorful and beautiful too, everything else can wait a few short moments to savor a morning like this.

DeleteSunrise is such a beautiful, peaceful time of the day. A time when one can be alone with his/her thoughts. The moment of silence -the brief indefinite period before the sun makes its debut at the far horizon.

ReplyDeleteI must take issue with one tidbit: who says domestic duties aren't rewarding? Why, I just emptied the cats' litterboxes and cleaned up a hairball covered in vomit filled with bits of just-eaten kibble. I feel SO rewarded I can't quite express it in words.
Sorry for the vivid vomit image. It's still so fresh in my mind. At least I spared you any LB details...THIS time.
Ms. CrankyPants: Detruffelating the kitty litter was one of the tasks delayed by the sunrise. Luckily the other end of their digestion is not causing issues at the moment. I suspect I could think of a word or two to convey my feelings about the duties you describe here. And gratitude and pleasure don't spring to mind. Eeeuw, and the thought 'if I never feed them again perhaps I have done this for the last time' more accurately convey it. Yes, I know, I am an unnatural woman.

ReplyDeleteThe cloud colours in the third photo - are my two most favourite colours - at least as they translate to my monitor (deep lavender and coral).
During stressful times, you are wise to take some me-time, no matter what goes by the wayside. Hard to do, but it gives one something to hold onto, doesn't it?

Merlesworld: I was told red in the morning, shepherd take warning. And it was very true on this day. A little later the skies closed in and we had wind and rain for the rest of the day. Chilly wind and rain.

DeleteKaren: It sounds suspiciously like another treat from the disease. I have no troubles going to sleep - but a lot in staying that way. I don't remember when last I slept for longer than two hours in a stretch. So I read, pace, nap - and finally give up and get up.
