Sunday Selections #139

Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files. 

The meme is now continued by River at Drifting through life.  The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent.  Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to River.

Like River, I generally run with a theme.   Last week I said that I would try and stay out of the garden for this week's Sunday Selections.  I have a confession to make.  I have stayed out of my garden.

The day after we went to Floriade we headed down the road to visit Tulip Top Gardens.  These gardens are open for the same period as Floriade each year - and are even more beautiful.  I took many, many, many photos and a post dedicated to the beauty will go up some time next week.

In addition to the incredible gardens, the owners have a delightfully quirky sense of humour.  Last year I chuckled at the A-bra-retum.  It has been revamped and returned.  Beautiful bras, bountifully stuffed.  Perhaps next year boxer shorts and y-fronts will be featured as well. 







 And this year there was a new feature tree as well...








  Both trees caused me to smile.  And chuckle.  And the smaller portion scurried away - pretending that he didn't know the laughing loon with the camera.

      Thanks for sharing the Lovely. When I had a gumtree in the yard I filled the branches with every plushy Koala I ever saw in an opshop. They weathered well too. Please do not "try to stay out" of a garden. Gardens and cats cure all ills. X X

      And no, I am unable to stay out of a garden - was really meaning that I wouldn't always or only inflict my garden on the blogosphere.

    Absolutely wonderful! I had to smile and I thank you for the smiles.

    Your post brought back memories about an uncle...looking out from his kitchen side window one day (the rear of the house was up high...as the land fell away in the back yard)...there upon the tree that grew nearby the rear side window were used tea bags...all draped over its branches and leaves! I had to laugh and I pointed out his "Tea Tree" to him. It suddenly dawned on him what he'd been doing...and he ceased throwing them out the window after that! :)

    Love these. Today (28th in USA) is my mom's 72nd birthday, and so I wired her some money so she could buy herself some new boob slings. Perhaps I will tell her to send the old ones to the Abrareturn.

    Oh my! I am SO envious EC! I'd love to visit Tulip Top Gardens.
    Those bras are too funny - gorgeous looking with, and without, plants.
    And, the Tea Tree - so cool.
    I used to harvest ti-tree/te-tree, and we always wanted a cuppa "tea" at break.

    Looking forward to more about this garden :)

    Hahahaha brilliant. Ooer misses, I like your bloomers. A very good idea, I'm imagining your thoughts on boxer shorts and men's undies and seeing some hilarious possibilities. Equality see. Tea-tree. I see what they did there and applaud it heartily. Greenery looks all the better sometimes for a little unusual activity. Great pics as ever.

      rhymeswithplague: That photo was taken on a wet and windy day. The magpie (and they are quite high in the pecking order) was enjoying breakfast on the feeder. The corella really didn't want to share, and started an aggressive display. Teamed with loud shrieks. The magpie won.

    I remember your visit from last year - what a fun idea for the bras! And I do like that T tree :) Another comment way at the top reminded me of a house in our community where the residents of a few years ago parked teddy bears of every size and description in a large tree in their yard - it was neat to see on my daily walk :)

    Wonderful stuffed bras. They give me an idea for the charity shop where I volunteer. We keep all the pretty brad to dress the " girls " - the three mannequins in the window. We've even had complaints about the bras !
