Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files. Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image.
The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life. Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle.

rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent. Post some photos
under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Sorry I still
havn't succeeded in working out how to do a blog hop. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.
I usually run with a theme. Last week was mostly a grey week. We had rain predicted for most days. Sometimes lots of rain. Sadly (because we need the rain) the weather boffins were strangers to the truth. On Thursday we were predicted to get 10 mm of rain. Not a drop fell. On Friday the prediction was 20-40mm of rain. We got six. Sigh.
However on Wednesday we had a delightful sunrise. I am going to show you a number of shots showing how different it looked to the east and the west.
Starting with a pebble grey day for Charlotte (MotherOwl) for whom pebble grey is the colour of the month.
Then to the sunrise.
I do love sunrise - it is one of my favourite times of day. I hope (as I always do) that you find beauty in your week.

DeleteGood morning, EC. I don't mind the rain. It is the wild storms I hate, particularly after what happened up this way on Christmas night past...when without prior warning, the unannounced tornado ripped through the area, causing much damage and heartache.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I'm awake at sunrise, or before...and sometimes not. This morning I'd hope to have been able to sleep in because it took me hours and hours to finally get to sleep last night....c'est la vie.

River Fairchild: Even in the depths of winter we see sun. For which I am grateful. Summer (which is predicted to be hot and horrid) is on the way. It won't be long before I do most of my outside time at dawn and shortly afterwards. Thank you - and hugs.

ReplyDeleteSunrises are gorgeous, but I am more of a sunset type of gal. Of course, we do have an incredible place to watch them that is just a couple of minutes drive from the house. TO catch a nearby sunrise I would have a longer drive.

DeleteI had to go back and see the Floriade post I missed. Still love the pink wheelbarrows with tulips. What amazing colors and stunning photos. Some of those beds were jaw dropping gorgeous.

DeleteYour photos are beautiful as usual, and I love the sunrises. Sending you good thoughts for more rain soon. We're over our drought season here - we just got 120mm of rain this past weekend. That was great for us, but some areas near us got more than twice that, causing a lot of property damage and at least one death. If only we could "share" our weather across the globe!
ReplyDeleteDiane Henders: Some world wide weather moderation would be very nice. We had a dry winter (which is when we get most of our rain) and have had very little spring rain. Other parts of Oz have had too much. Feast or famine seems to be the rule.
