Sunday Selections #643

Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.

Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image.

The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life.  Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle.

The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent.  Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.

I usually run with a theme. I had hoped to go on an outing last week and show you an exhibition at our National Museum. Sadly it didn't happen and the exhibition closes today.  So I am again focusing on Spring which is definitely on its way.  First from my trip into town to do my volunteer work.

I love the cheery planter boxes in the city.

Then a few from our garden. Ok, more than a few.  I got carried away again. I do love colour.

The bees and the birds love the grevilleas we have planted for them.

Batty is better but still not right.  So we have yet another trip to the vet with him tomorrow morning (before himself willingly gets up). I have an appointment for an MRI which I loathe on Wednesday.  Wish us both luck please.  I hope you find beauty and comfort in your week.

 Aren't their crossed tails cute?

I usually run with a theme. This week has had medical appointments, for me and for Batty (and both of us have more to come). Consequently I have taken very few photos and have not gone on any 'fun' excursions so I am reverting to skyscapes. Again. All of these photos were taken this month.

I do delight in early morning light.

We are still having frosts.

This was taken on a very foggy morning.  I loved the soft hues.

I hope you find beauty and joy this week. And all the weeks to come.

I usually run with a theme. I have seen my neurologist but have no answers yet.  More tests and then back to see him again. The body is still behaving badly but I refuse to give in.

Many of you know that the garden is one of my passions.  It has got away from me, but the bones of the garden are still there and more and more things are coming into bloom.  So I try and do a bit in it most days.

Here are some of the delights I have found.

There are more camellias coming out each day.

Our wattle (Australia's floral emblem) is coming out too.  Parts of my city are blazing with them.

This Japanese iris was given to me by a neighbour - who died a few years ago.  I think of him each year when they flower.  They are spreading too, which is lovely.

The bees and I love the anemones - and I hope Charlotte (MotherOwl) will accept this as my nod to her colour of the month which is luminous red.

This is
Chimonanthus praecox, also known as wintersweet and Japanese allspice.  It has a delightful subtle scent and knows that it is indeed still winter.

I hope you find colour and delight in the week to come.
