Some of you may remember that a little while ago Spectra of Spectrum Woman proposed a Great American Snowman Contest to be run over the American winter
I bitched and moaned about her geographica and climatical prejudices. She gave in and extended the contest to anyone who wanted to play, using whatever materials were available.
So I cheated and entered the snow woman I had made at while I was at school.
In all her glory, here she is.
The Great Australian Snow Slut.
And she won a prize!
Which arrived today. Earrings to add to my (very large) collection. And I am sure that the snow slut approves.
Thank you Spectra. From both of us.

Well done - maybe you should sell the earrings to go towards some corrective breast surgery for your, ahem, Snow Slut...? Her left one seems to be higher and perkier than the other :)
ReplyDeleteKath: She would like you to know that she was in fact anatomically correct(ish). Most of us have one breast larger than the other. So I am keeping those earrings.
DeleteThe snow woman is great, I love her, but those earrings...oh! the earrings! I'm doing some serious coveting here.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your prize.
River: Spectra made those earrings - and all the other prizes too. She is one seriously talented woman.
DeleteWell done! I remember the snow slut post - hilarious!
ReplyDeleteAlexia: Thank you.
DeleteTalented Spectra! And so generous. And you, of course, are a talented snowwoman maker.
ReplyDeletePaper Chipmunk. I agree with you about Spectra on both counts. And it is lovely to receive a piece of both her talent and her generosity.
DeleteAwwwwww - so sorry I missed all of these wonderful comments/compliments yesterday. I didn't know if anyone would like those earrings. I love the maple brown lampwork beads.Thanking everyone for your thoughtful compliments - and you too, Paper Chipmunk:)
DeleteHow fun! I'm glad you won. :)
ReplyDeleteLynn: Little did I think that on that day all those years ago ....
Delete- that you and your snow slut would ascend to greatness...
DeleteYou certainly deserve the prize.
ReplyDeleteStarting Over, Accepting Changes - Maybe: Why thank you. In the card that came with my earrings Spectra said that I should 'wear them with the Pride and Arrogance of a winner....' Arrogance is not my style, but I will certainly show off her handiwork with pride.
Delete-well, here in Jersey, we have no clue how to distinguish between Pride and Arrogance. It's all just mushed up together in one big Additude Bomb.
DeleteThis brought a huge smile to my face!
ReplyDeleteRon Dudley: I am glad - she was conceived in a laughter filled day.
DeleteWell, there you go, it sometimes pays to bitch a bit! Congrats, it's a zinger of a snow woman and well deserved its prize.
ReplyDeleteDave King: Being a whinger does indeed sometimes have its benefits.
DeleteGood for you...I remember your snow woman post...she deserves gorgeous earrings.
ReplyDeletemybabyjohn/Delores: Aren't they wonderful earrings!!!
DeleteI also remember your snow woman post; she deserves an award, and so you do! You didn't show HER those earrings, did you? Thanks for the smiles this morning! :-)
ReplyDeleteDJan: I am not silly enough to think of showing her my earrings. Mine, all mine.
DeleteSnow Slut - Making snow look hot for decades! Congrats on your prize!
ReplyDeletedaisyfae: While the body has melted, the hotness of a cold hard woman lingers on.
DeleteI love the Snow Slut! She's a beauty but I hear, cold as ice. (apologies to all) Congrats on those sweet earrings, EC!
ReplyDeleteAustan: You are right about the Snow Slut. No-one could ever have called her warm and welcoming. I do love the earrings - thank you.
DeleteHa, I love your Snow Slut!!!!! And those earrings are very nice! Congratulations
ReplyDeleteOne Too Many: Thank you.

ReplyDeleteI'm chuckling at your snow slut, very creative too and I love those earrings.
ReplyDeleteDenise: I am glad to have made you smile. I also really love the earrings. Spectra is sooooo talented.
DeleteThe earrings are fabulous; the great Australian snow slut is fabuloser. Fabuloso? No, that would be Fabulosa.
ReplyDeleteJoanne: Fabulosa sounds about right. And she wasn't a stickler for grammer anyhow.
DeleteCool!
ReplyDeleteKaren: Cold. But cool.
DeleteShe's purdy.
ReplyDeleteCarrieBoo: Welcome. She was indeed purdy.
DeleteSnow sluts rule!
ReplyDeleteOne Minnesota Writer: Snow Sluts do indeed rule. As is right and proper.
DeleteNice to win...with a snow slut:)
ReplyDeleteKim @ Stuff could ...: I will take my winnings anyway I can get them.
DeleteYes, i do remember snow slut with the big knockers. I reckon the earrings are very elegant indeed :-).
ReplyDeleteWindsmoke: Who could forget such a 'buxom' lass. The earrings are a delight.
DeleteAHHHH! So glad to see the earrings arrived!
ReplyDeleteSorry I didn't make it over here sooner when I saw your comment with your fine and classic acceptance speech - I just didn't think you'd get on it so fast!
Thanks for the Shout Out and linky-love, EC. it was a pleasure doing business with you ;)
Spectra: The pleasure was all mine. And, if I have got it right, I am also using a gift from your generous self in my response to you commment.
DeleteThat was a great post. I am glad you won. They would not suit her anyway!
ReplyDeleteChristine: Thank you. And no, I don't think the earrings would have been the Snow Slut's first choice.
DeleteHey that's brilliant! What a treat and how lovely are those earrings?! Well done that woman say I. I have a load of earrings waiting to be posted when I get my act together so block me now. Hahahaha x
ReplyDeleteAll Consuming: They are lovely and yes, I will be blocking your earrings. I have too many now and have no resistance to books, plants or earrings.
