Sunday Selections #586

Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.

Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image.

The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life.  Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle.

The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent.  Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.

I usually run with a theme. This week?  Winter mornings.  We are finally getting some frosts.  It isn't cold enough yet to freeze bubbles but I have hopes.  We have had clear mornings, foggy mornings and definitely cool temperatures.  I like it, though the other household residents (human and feline) disagree.

I am always fascinated with frost etching a filigree on plant leaves...

One morning the bird bath was definitely iced over.  I broke the ice for them.

I do like the layers of colour in the early morning skies.

Frosty or sunny I hope you all have a wonderful week.

  1. What a glorious collection of really relaxing photographs, EC!

With our summer making itself known in a very hot and humid manner, it's difficult to imagine your winter scenes! Makes me cooler just looking at them, so thank you for that!

    Have a great weekend!

  2. Such wonderful composition in that birdbath shot! Your photos are always beautiful and I will forever thank you for sharing them with us. I am a big fan of anything featuring the moon too. My feeble attempts at photographing the moon are dismal.
Have a great-ish week and hugs/scritches to you and Jazz!

  7. Lovely pictures of the frost on leaves. Being a rug hooker, it had me thinking of a pattern, that would look good on a rug.

I don't know what kind of lens you are using on your camera, but the picture of the moon with all the landscape details is absolutely incredible. I've never been able to take a great picture of the moon, no matter what I do. Whatever settings you use, it's perfect.

Enjoy the cooler weather, I hope that you get your frozen bubble opportunity soon.
    Hugs,

  8. It’s a good job we don’t all like the same thing isn’t it……’pretty’ though it looks I’m wondering if your plants were damaged by the frost. For all my complaining about the cold it’s a long time since we had frost like that down here in Melbourne.
I often wonder why it is that some are able to photograph the moon and others aren’t- maybe the camera plays a role
