Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.
Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image.
The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life. Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle.
The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent. Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.
I
usually run with a theme. It is now 2023 here (though the New Year found her way in without any assistance from me). This year (as I did last year) I am going to post photos of one of my interests/obsessions month by month from last year. I adore skyscapes and have folder after folder of photos of them.

Welcome to 2023, dear. I put this message on the previous post, too.
ReplyDeleteYour sky shots are fabulous. I am always impressed with your sky. It has a pink and blue glow not seen here (at least not in my neighborhood). Have a safe and HEALTHY day and year. That includes Odie and Batty and your partner, too.
DeleteBleubeard and Elizabeth: Thank you for both the wishes and the compliments. This morning the sky is a soft and gentle grey. It is warm already though...
DeleteHappy New Year. You are always looking up to the sky and that's a good thing
ReplyDeleteThe Blog Fodder: Thank you. I really need to look down more often too - perhaps if I did I would trip less often.
DeleteI love October and November the most. Love them. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteStrayer: Thank you. I had a hard job selecting photos - I like rather a lot of my skyscapes.
DeleteBeautful shots EC, I too love skyscapes, seascapes and my very favourite sunsets which can be pretty spectacular out here. Must do a collection. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteMuch love to you and the wee lads and Himself. May 2023 be less angst ridden and pain ridden for you, and yes for me too, please.
Long may our big jibs draw and our cameras capture what delights us.
XO
WWW
Wisewebwoman: HOW I hope that your wishes come true. Lang may our big jibs draw indeed.
DeleteYou live in a most beautiful place! Happy and prosperous New Year to you, and thanks for everyting in the old!
ReplyDeleteCharlotte (MotherOwl): Thank you.
DeleteHappy New Year, dear Sue. May the best of 2022 be the worst of 2023 ;-)
ReplyDeleteSean Jeating: That is a wonderful wish - and to you and those you hold dear.
DeleteWell chosen images! : )
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, dear EC.
Caterina: Thank you. I won't admit to how many times I changed the selected images...
DeleteI love all your sky scapes but I'm especially in awe of your moon shot. I never could take such a great picture of the moon.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your household a marvelous New Year, with improved health, hope, joy, peace, love, happiness and all good things.
Hugs, Julia
Julia: Moon shots are difficult aren't they? I have taken rather a lot of failures. And thank you for those comprehensive wishes.
DeleteDear EC
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful skies and skyscapes - it is not a surprise to hear you have a lot of pictures of them.
I hope you all have better health in 2023.
Best wishes
Ellie
Ellie Foster: Folder, after folder of skyscapes. Many of them full. Better health for us all would be lovely. Thank you.
DeleteWhat a lovely way to recap a year past. Thank you for the beautiful photos, and happy new year! :-)
ReplyDeleteDiane Henders: Thank you. I nearly went down the garden path - and took you all with me. Happy New Year - and happy writing.

DeleteLove the sky photos and wish you a very good happy new year 2023!
ReplyDeleteroentare: Thank you - and to you.
DeleteI didn't see the New Year in...I shut down and went to sleep very early. I hope 2023 treats you kindly in every way, EC. Take good care.
ReplyDeleteLee: I didn't see it in either - though himself did. I was woken by fireworks around midnight, but treated them with ignore. I hope that you and Shama have a gentle and kind year.
DeleteHere's hoping that the new year will be somewhat better than the last few, although I won't hold my breath. I love your month by month review and fully support your obsessions! Please take good care of yourself and get much needed rest when you can. Scritches sent to Batty and Odie.
ReplyDeleteRiver Fairchild: Blue is not my colour, so I won't be holding my breath either. And thank you (so much) for your friendship and your emails. I have been in the garden this morning (starting the year as I hope to go on).
DeleteALL great shots!
ReplyDeleteMike: Thank you. Nature is a superb artist.
DeleteThe New Year arrived and the sun came up as usual here in Kilsyth….didn’t need my help after all. Here’s to many more sunrises (and New Years) for you and your family EC.
ReplyDeleteCathy: Neither the sun nor the New Year needed our assistance either - which has to be a good thing. I hope that you and yours have a truly delightful year.
DeleteI wish the same for you, EC. Only the best!
ReplyDeleteMarie Smith: Thank you.
DeleteI wish you a year full of beautiful skies, lakeside roo visits, meaningful clutter and good health (health challenges understood)
ReplyDeleteI love the May sky.
kylie: I often look in that direction when I first go out in the morning - and I am very rarely disappointed. Thank you for your comprehensive wishes. I am trying for a little less clutter but what we have is certainly meaningful.
DeleteA wonderful lead up to 2023! Thank you for everything that you have shared with us this past year. Wishing you and everyone you love A Very Happy and Healthy New Year, with many more beautiful skies ahead!

ReplyDeletejenny_o: As you know I am a beauty addict. This addiction is one I have no plans to even attempt to conquer. Hugs to you too, sister across the seas.
DeleteWhat a wonderful way to begin the year, with a look back at highlights from the previous year. I hope you don't mind i think i will borrow the idea, as i was in the middle of trying to decide what pictures to post.
ReplyDeleteMy selections will be over here.
messymimi: Of course I don't mind. I almost certainly stole the idea from someone else too. I look forward to your selections.
DeleteI love your skyscapes. I hope 2023 brings all that you wish for, peace, health for both of you and the kitties, and happiness. Same for the rest of the world too.
ReplyDeleteRiver: Peace, health and happiness for the world sounds very good indeed. Thank you.

ReplyDeleteAndrew: Thank you. I delight in the difference in the sky. I hope that you and R have a wonderful year.
DeleteAnonymous aka Frances. Minutes after I looked at your gorgeous pictures I returned to reading burgess Boys by Elizabeth Strout and came across these words: “ By evening the sun threw off great gusts of pink and red…”
ReplyDeleteCoincidence? I think not. I wish all enjoy a happy and healthy new year with great gusto.

ReplyDeleteTrin Carl: Thank you. I photograph a lot more dawns than I do at the other end of the day. I wonder why?

ReplyDeletemail4rosey: Thank you - on both counts.
Possano i miei desideri diventare realtà. Buon 2023.

DeleteAnonymous: Who are you? And yes, I hope you can comment on your own blog again. I found that changing browsers helped when I was having HUGE commenting issues.

ReplyDeleteDMS ~Jess: Thank you. Capturing a photograph of the moon is challenging isn't it, but so worth the effort.
DeleteDear EC. thank you for sharing with us a whole year's worth--month by month--of the Australian sunsets/rises. That apricot color that is so common to these photographs takes away my breath with its beauty. Happy new year and may it be a healthy one for both of us and may peace come to the defiant and hopeful citizens of Ukraine. They are inspiring the world--except maybe for Putin--with their fortunate and love of freedom. Peace from Dee and the cats.
ReplyDeleteDee Ready: Thank you. That apricot shade delights me too. It was a soft pink dawn this morning. Gentle and beautiful. I love your new Year wishes and hope they come true for me, for you, and for the world.

DeleteDear EC, I meant to say "fortitude" instead of "fortunate." The hands sometimes lose trace of the brain waves! Peace from Dee
Dee Ready: Not a problem. I knew what you meant and suffer with finger dyslexia myself.
DeleteLovely set of photographs!
ReplyDeleteashok: Thank you.
DeleteAs always your collection of photos is magnificant, but it pales in comparison to the love that is splashed here in comments to you from people from all over the world. No matter what 2023 brings your way, please remember you have so many people who love and admire you always. ~Karen~
ReplyDeleteMildred Ratched ~Karen: Thank you so much. I am beyond grateful for the community I have found in the blogosphere. You educate me, entertain me, support me. It would be very greedy to ask for more.
DeleteLovely photos and a wonderful way to look back on the past year. I wish you a very Happy New Year and all the best to you. Let us hope this might be a banner year for both of us,
