Sunday Selections #627

Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.

Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image.

The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life.  Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle.

The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent.  Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.

I usually run with a theme. This week has been busy for a change (not). My outings have been practical, duty driven or related to medical issues. However, yesterday morning I was delighted to catch a soft and gentle dawn (as I headed outside with the kitty litter).

The colours muted as I watched, but it still filled me with joy.

I hope you find beauty in your week too.

  20. Lovely skies, thank you. I don't do dawn these days, the early morning air is frosty now so Lola and I stay cuddled up under the covers until after 8am and when I finally get up, she stays there and sleeps the day away.

    1. River: The early mornings are chilly here too. The cats get up with me, have breakfast and then go back to bed. Batty snuggles up with himself and Odie finds a range of comfortable spots.

  21. Hi EC - so pleased you're feeling a little easier ... but a soft dawn is glorious to see - the sky changes so much - yesterday morning was reasonable - by day time it was thick mist and then steady rain - today it's brighter ... the week ahead much of the same - I guess the sun will return?!! Cheers and have a peaceful week - Hilary

    1. Hilary Melton-Butcher: We have had fog too. Thick fog and today has been grey all day. That soft dawn was encouraging - and heralding a bright and beautiful (albeit chilly) day.

  29. Finally Blogger has seen fit to allow me to comment. I had to reload the page several times.
I have several sunset images taken over the years but not many dawn ones. I'm usually not out and about in the morning. While early AM might be the optimal time to walk, at least in the summer, my diabetes and hypothyroidism conspire against me. I have to wait at least a half hour before eating anything when taking the thyroid medication, and it's not smart for a diabetic to exercise on an empty stomach. I pity the fool who might have to scrape my hefty carcass off the street if I were to pass out from low blood sugar.
In any case, your dawn photos are beautiful!
I deviated from my fishy photos this time when creating my Haiga. Since the image I used isn't mine, you're welcome to delete this comment if the linked post deviates from the spirit of the prompt too much.

    3. Kim: I have seen the dawn most days for longer than I care to think about. I nap during the day when I can. Frosts heavy enough to blow bubbles are a way off yet, but I am hopeful - and we did have snow on the hills a few days ago.
