Sunday Selections

Sunday Selections, brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, is an ongoing theme where participants post previously unused photos languishing in their files.

Anyone can join in, just post your photos under the Sunday Selections title, link back to Kim, then add your name to her Linky list at Frogpondsrock.

This week my theme is Jewel.  She mostly seems to slip under the radar because she is not nearly as evil as Jazz (though she has her moments).

I couldn't leave Jazz out altogether - and he does look good behind daffodils.

  1. Oh cats! Yours look lovely, but I am thinking they are maybe a bit cheeky sometimes from your photos, yes?

My Miss 4 has been enjoying looking photos of my two felines from when they were kittens this week. Hanging off the exercise bike, and, like Jazz, in bags or boxes. Both your photos and mine have made me smile, and nod, and smile :)

  2. Ah, daffodils--my favorite.

Did you know that black cats are supposed to the friendliest and mellowest of cats?

  3. I LOVE your kitties, and to have two black ones, Jewel and Jazz, you are so blessed! Thanks for sharing the shy one...

  4. Amanda: Yes, they both have their cheeky moments. But are beautiful.

Snowbrush: In about six weeks our daffodils will be in full flower - and I will post many, many photos. We have had mellow black cats - the late lamented Medlyn's favourite position was upside down in my lap with my tea cup resting on his belly. Jazz is entirely different. My arms are currently covered in scratches and bites and he wakes me in the morning by reaching under the bed clothes and raking.

DJan: I love them too. Thanks.

  5. Fantastic photos, i especially like photos 4,5,6 because it seems young kids and cats like to play with boxes :-).

  7. What's with the post box? Is Jewel planning on posting herself somewhere? She's cute.

  8. Love the cat pics. Our last childhood cat was originally black who greyed out then became sort of greyish with tints of red-brown. Strange, huh? He was lovely. I did a Sunday Selections on Jeffrey Puddy not so long back. Never bought into black cats and bad luck.

  9. Hi EC,

She reminds me of Poppy, our shy black cat.

    Nice photos.

  10. Fantastic felinery! Beautiful photos. Any photo of a cat in a bag (or poking its head out of a bag) cracks me up for some reason.

  11. I love your entertaining photos of the J&J Show! :-) They're both so gorgeous and obviously full of personality, cleverness and chutzpah and the antics to match.

I especially love the series of photos of Jewel checking out and then plopping herself down in the box with the bubble wrap, and the one of her getting a closer look out the open window.

And you're right that Jazz looks very handsome against the bright yellow of your beautiful daffs!

  13. I love your 2 black cats so much, and Jewel is such a beauty. I just happened to post a pic of our Max in a shopping bag today - seems like such a cat thing to do. xxx

  17. Thank you everyone. Both our cats were adoption cats and came already named (though Jazz was called Jazzpur which made me puke). Their current names do suit them, and they have fallen on all four feet, being shamelessly indulged. But are worth it. Almost always.

  18. EC - I love both your kitties! Is Jazz getting ready to shred those daffodils once their purpose as decorative foreground is fulfilled I wonder? Thanks for sharing these, one can never get enough of cute cat shots!

  21. I have a deep love for black cats. Every cat I have had for the last 30 years has been black. I wouldn't have any other kind. The picture of the black cat in the green bag is gorgeous.

  22. What great pictures. Jazz's black goes very well with daffodils. Jewel looks likes a very wonderful kitty.
