I am having difficulties with my blog at the moment.
When I go to my dashboard it tells me I am not following any blogs. Eventually, after much refreshing, it will admit that I am following blogs.
And will show me the blog of the person who posted most recently. And only that one. When I hit 'view more' it declines.
Hiss and spit.
Hopefully this glitch will be fixed sooner rather than later.
I will be back viewing your blogs when I can.

Don't sweat it Dear. They always get it right in time.

Cloudia: Thank you. Soon I hope.
DeleteI remember that from years ago. Blogger doing background stuff or something. All I did was switch off and leave it for a couple of hours. it happened a few times, but not lately.
ReplyDeleteRiver: It had already lasted for over five hours before I put up this post. Hopefully it will settle overnight.
DeleteI'm having the same trouble here. I guess we have to do what River says and be patient.
ReplyDeleteCrimsonAnna: Thank you - it is nice to know it is affecting other people too. Hopefully it will get sorted relatively quickly.
DeleteThought you'd like to know wordpress has been having hissy fits all day today. Don't know if I'm the only one it's not happy with but it certainly took it out on me today. I'm hoping this comment goes through because only one of them has done so today lol
ReplyDeleteTake care
Cathy
Well look at that - there's a first time for anything I suppose lol I used name/url and not wordpress - I wonder if that helped??
ReplyDeleteCathy
Cathy: Welcome - and thank you. I am not certain why but it is comforting to learn that much of the blogosphere is having hissy fits. PS: Love your blog - and will add it to my dashboard when things settle again.
DeleteI am having the same problem Sue. If you click on each blog down the left hand side, you will get that blog's most recent post.
ReplyDeletecazzaham: I know. But I have many, many blogs on my list - and it would be a labourious process.
DeleteThis happened to me several years ago on Blogger. Very irritating when your blog tells you lies. It came right all on its own though - why? Still don't know to this day.
ReplyDeletelynners: It is now the next day, and the problem is still here. Sigh. Blogger knows about it though, so hopefully, soon...
DeleteDear EC
ReplyDeleteYou are not alone - my blogger dashboard is doing exactly the same thing! It was fine last night, but not this morning. Hiss and Spit indeed! Hopefully it will sort itself out.
Best wishes
Ellie
Ellie Foster: It seems that there are a few of us hissing and spitting. And I will cross my fingers and toes for good measure.
DeleteYep...same problem. I have to go down my reading list individually and click on them one at a time. What a pain.
ReplyDeleteDelores: And my reading list is huge...
DeleteSomeone else mentioned that problem. It will fix itself eventually.
ReplyDeleteAlex J. Cavanaugh: Sooner rather than later I hope.
DeleteCompared with Facebook the blog world works quite well. I've not had many problems lately which is just as well as I am so darned ignorant when it comes to trying to correct faults.
ReplyDeleteI do hope it soon comes good for you EC as you know how much you mean to us and we just need you to be there as much as possible. You inspire us so much.
Mimsie: Thank you. What a lovely thing to say. Which feels totally undeserved.
DeleteHiss and spit a thousand times. I think it has been almost two months since blogger aloud me to get into my own blog. It started with a little glitch here and there, then the whole thing imploded. I, also, had to click on each blog I had on my blog roll to see if they had posted.
ReplyDeletePractical Parsimony: Blogger has been soooooo rotten to you. Two months is way too long. And I miss your posts.
DeleteOh no! I'm having some issues but not quite as wonky as yours...I hope they hurry and fix! I love your writing....I wonder if you opened a new blog would the followers show up? Some people have multiple blogs listed under their names....Good luck, EC! -Vickie
ReplyDeleteMusings, Tea and Me: Thank you so much. Since it is a blogger problem I suspect the issue would follow me. And I love the people who visit me - and would be very reluctant to lose any of them.
DeleteYou have that one, everyone has bad day, or tell blogger!!!!!! It you do that, you are the first!
ReplyDeleteBob Bushell: Thank you. I did tell Blogger, as did others. Waiting now. Not entirely patiently.
DeleteI've had that issue repeatedly. Usually if I turn off my computer and come back later, the reading list is back up, but sometimes not for days.
ReplyDeleteStrayer: Still here this morning. Sigh.
DeleteI have had that problem off and on for quite a while now. It will fix itself.
ReplyDeleteKaren: I hope it does. And would like it to do so moderately quickly.
DeletePoor you!
ReplyDeleteladyfi: Thank you.
DeleteSame problem here. Just started this morning (sigh).
ReplyDeleteGeo.: Started yesterday morning, still here this morning. Sigh again.
DeleteMe too. Started today. I looked at their help page and see it's a well reported "bug" they are working on as the suggested remedies such as "empty your cache" (WTH????) don't work. I, too, am clicking down the list and then have to scroll back to the top to check the blog. Hiss, spitt!
ReplyDeleteJoanne Noragon: Hiss and spit. Sigh. And repeat. My list is huge, so I am not quite certain what I will do. Start by visiting everyone who has been here I suppose.
DeleteThat, and the blue screen of death (TWICE!) are going on with me and my computer. When they work, they're great. When they don't, we see how dependent we are on them.
ReplyDeletelotta joy: Far too dependent on them. And I will thank you to keep the blue screen of death to yourself. Please.
Deletewhat the hell! It was nice knowing you gals while it lasted! ha ha ha ha ha
DeleteMohave Rat: You won't get rid of us that easily...
DeleteA while back mine quit letting me load any pictures. I had to switch from IE to Chrome in order for Blogger to work again. *sigh* I haven't had any recent problems, though. I'm sure they'll fix the newest problem eventually.
ReplyDeleteRiver Fairchild: I hope so, but poor Practical Parsimony has been locked out of her blog for tooooo long.
DeleteThanks for this news as it is happening to me today!! Infuriating. They made me change to Chrome and now problesm there!! RATS.
ReplyDeleteBookie: Frustrating isn't it? And I see in the help forum that it has been a known bug for over a week. Hissing and spitting here.
DeleteTechnology can be so frustrating! Good luck.
ReplyDeleteRiot Kitty: Technology is frustrating. And I am appalled at how dependent on blogging I have become.
DeleteWordPress makes me pull my hairs out, but, that said, I'm still glad not to be dependent on Blogger anymore. Especially after Google suddenly dropped Reader, I just don't trust them when it comes to these things. Sigh... How frustrating!
ReplyDeletePaper Chipmunk: It is frustrating. And trust is something that blogger doesn't deserve. At all. They have their moments, but...
Delete*sigh* If it makes you feel any better ... it happens to us all. Blogger drives me up the wall sometimes.
ReplyDeleteTechnology becomes such a big part of our lives, that when it's down we're sort of left in mid-air as to what to do. Hope it's sorted soon.
Wendy: Blogger has admitted it is an issue. Which is a start. But only a small one.
DeleteGoogle is having a hissy fit.
ReplyDeleteStarting Over, Accepting Changes - Maybe: And their hissy fit, and the recalcitrance and lack of communication are giving ME a hissy fit. A sadly ineffectual hissy fit.
DeleteHow frustrating for you, EC. I hope all comes good again soon.
ReplyDeleteLee: I hope it does too. Nothing has changed today though - except that I have learned that rather a lot of us are affected.
DeleteHave posted theory on "Trainride of The Enigmas"!
ReplyDeleteGeo.: And I loved it. Thank you.
DeleteI'm glad to see I'm not the only one who is having issues with blogger.
ReplyDeleteJason and Michelle: There are rather a lot of us. And I don't think that blogger gives a rat's behind. Festers that they are...
DeleteI've heard about blogger issues, and I'm getting nervous....
ReplyDeleteVicki: Very, very frustrating. With no end in sight...
Delete"And will show me the blog of the person who posted most recently. And only that one. When I hit 'view more' it declines" - me too on this part, I'll keep an eye on the blogger forums, it soooooo frustrating and the last thing you need too so fingers crossed it's sorted soon. And hey, you never know, maybe something unexpected might occur in the next week or so that will put a smile on your face *nods, winks and says no more.
ReplyDeleteAll Consuming: It seems to be a widespread problem. And yes, it is frustrating. You have me intrigued wondering what you think will put a smile on my dial though. I can hardly wait.
DeleteHugs.
A smile on my dial. Hahaha I love that. Time will tell ;) x
DeleteI've been having this issue for several days now, so I sympathise. Now if they'll just pull their thumbs out of their behinds...
ReplyDeleteJaquelineand...: There are a LOT of people affected it seems. Hopefully they will extract their digits. Soon.
DeleteHi EC Snap, I think a lot of us are having the same problems. Hope you will enjoy my slide show yesterday of Rowallane Gardens and the video today. Birding For Pleasure.
ReplyDeleteMargaret Adamson: It is beyond frustrating. Not only still here, but spreading. Sigh.
DeleteThis seems to be going around. I have a few minor problems but nothing that can't be fixed (knock on wood).
ReplyDeleteGrannie Annie: Knock on wood indeed.
DeleteI have the same problem, only just discovered. How enraging. What do they think they are doing?
ReplyDeleteHope you are both OK. I have been off the air a bit, what with choir...
persiflage: I don''t know what they think they are doing at all. What they seem to be doing is nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch.
DeleteI hope your life has calmed down.
Good luck. It's frustrating when the blogs go wonky.
ReplyDeletemail4rosey: Frustrating - and salutory too. It has made it clear just how dependent I am on the blogosphere.
DeleteYou are not alone with problems, If it wasn't for my son who can fix computer problemd I would give the whole thing away,
ReplyDeleteVest: Many of my problems relate to a screw loose in the operator. Not this time. It ia a blogger glitch and is affecting rather a lot of us - and the numbers keep growing.
DeleteSame thing happening at this side of the world...... Last year I realised that my posts were not showing up for others.
ReplyDeleteHaddock: It is back. Though for how long is anyone's guess.
DeleteLet's start a blogging revolution!
ReplyDeleteMildred Ratched: There is some charm in that.
DeleteUGH! I confess, as awful and crazy-making as WordPress is, I'm glad not to be dependent on Google/Blogger anymore, especially after they suddenly up and got rid of Reader. All they have to do is decide blogging isn't part of their corporate package anymore and, voila, bye-bye Blogger. I don't think they really want to support a blogging platform anymore.
ReplyDeleteAt any rate, I really hope it gets fixed soon! Have you thought of an external reader, such as Feedly? It would be a big nuisance to move, however…? Yuck. @#$%!
Paper Chipmunk (aka Ellen): I think I will have to explore external readers - though it does sound like a heap of work. And, for the moment, for the first time this week, my dashboard is fully functional. Cautious happy dances.
DeleteI've never used the blogger reader - I just list the blogs I like to the right on my blog and read those. Sounds as if you have gotten it working - just saw comment above.
ReplyDeleteLynn: I have rather a lot of blogs to read. And use the space on my blog for books I have read. It does seem to be fixed today though - which is a huge relief.
DeleteI see by your reply to Paper Chipmunk that the problem may be resolved, which I'm sure is a relief to a great many people. Technology is a wonderful tool but a terrible pain in the hiney when it doesn't work.
ReplyDeletejenny_o: It does seem to have been fixed. And fingers crossed will stay that way. And how right you are - about the benefits and the pain.
DeleteI've been hissing and spitting for several days now too EC, it's all 100% this morning though so I'm doing a "visit every blog I follow" fest to catch up, I don't trust blogger to not do it again!
ReplyDeleteRose ~ from Oz: Wasn't it weird the way some people (lots of us) were affected - and others untouched. It didn't seem to relate to country, operating system...
DeleteFingers and toes crossed it stays fixed.
Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteHiss and spit! This idiotic issue with Blogger is a constant occurrence with me. And yes, after several refreshing of the site, hey presto, my dashboard has everybody return. I'm using several sources to find out what's happening these days. I subscribe to latest posts by you. However, that's about a 24 hour delay. Remember that fiasco where we couldn't follow new blogs and the crazy workaround?
Gary
klahanie: It seems to be functioning again today. Which is good. And I do know that email notification is slower than a wet week. I still have to use that workaround to follow blogs. Nothing else works for me. Sigh.
DeleteGave in and got a new computer a few weeks ago. Its been HEAVEN. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. I love it! But that doesn't stop blogger from being a stinker. Why, why, why does Blogger feel the need to be so temperamental all the time?!
ReplyDeleteFurry Bottoms: I hope your new computer treats you well. And yes, on the Blogger front - though I have to remind myself that I pay nothing for the privilege of paying here - so should be more grateful. And mostly I am.
DeleteGrrrr! I know how frustrating that is. My computer screen is fortunate that I don't own a sledgehammer. I wouldn't slammed it with one, MANY TIMES by now, if I did.
ReplyDeleteI hope things improve across the board.
Rawnknrobyn: As mysteriously as it arrived, it has left. And will hopefully stay gone.
DeleteEvery now and then blogger plays up. Have you downloaded any updates recently? If you are running Internet Explorer 11 I would strongly advise to downgrade it to 9. I downloaded 11 by mistake (I'm happy with 9) and it messed up my blog.
ReplyDeleteI hope it's all sorted soon.
Greetings from London.
A Cuban in London: It was indeed blogger playing up, but, fingers and toes crossed it is now all better.
DeleteBless your heart. I have been having some issues as well, you are not alone.
ReplyDeleteLinda: There seemed to be a lot of us. My (blog)vissues are now gone, and I hope that is true for everyone.
DeleteI had some of the same nonsense trying to drive me nuts. Hopefully, Blogger is on the mend now, and is done screwing with our sanity.
ReplyDeleteTake care, and a very happy weekend to you!
Susan: It seemed to impact on rather a lot of us. And my sanity has enough challenges without blogger's assistance. A very happy weekend to you too.
DeleteThat sounds intensely frustrating! I recall the following widget was earmarked be disabled last year, but wound up saved. I wonder if this is at all related.
ReplyDeleteJohn Wiswell: I know not. Blogger has fixed the problem - at least for the moment, but said no more than it was a bug.
DeleteI hATE when that happens. Xxx
ReplyDeleteBtw, how are your little black panthers?
My Inner Chick: It is all better now - and I am glad. The black panthers are thriving - though at the moment they are still in bed. Trying to tell me it is both cold and tooooo early.
DeleteI assume your blog problem is solved by now.
ReplyDeleteWhat a long book list you have, my dear. I rarely read anything new, and am right now enjoying "The Octopus" by Frank Norris. it's naturalistic American fiction (before Norris and Dreiser, American fiction had largely been of the "romantic" designation) that's a bit over a hundred years old, which is about what I prefer.
Snowbrush: I do read a lot. From a variety of genres. And am always learning of 'new' (to me) books to explore. Thank you - I hadn't heard of Frank Norris and may well explore.
DeleteYou might also try Sinclair Lewis. I've read two of his books--Babbitt and Main Street--and last night I started on Elmer Gantry, which is about a preacher who is less than sincere.
DeleteSnowbrush: It is a long time since I have read Sinclair Lewis. Babbit I have read, but have very little memory of. Elmer Gantry sounds worth investigating. Thank you.
DeleteStopping by to say "hello" - other than the frustration with the blog muckage, i hope you and the Smaller Portion are doing well!
ReplyDeletedaisyfae: Always lovely to see you. Blog muckage sorted (fingers crossed). His high and skinniness and I are travelling ok(ish) at the moment. How are things in your world?
Delete
