Sunday Selections #240

Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.

The meme is now continued by River at Drifting through life.  The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent.  Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to River.  Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.

Like River I usually run with a theme. On Thursday afternoon I came home from Lifeline tired, emotionally bruised and physically sore.  I sat down with the fixed intention of doing nothing until an early wine o'clock, dinner and bed.

And then the sky started to blaze.   Camera in hand I was out the door in a heartbeat.

When I came back inside I was still tired, still bruised, still sore.  Wearing a smile which threatened to split my face.

  1. Hard to feel bad surrounded by so much beauty. What time is wine o'clock for you? I try to hold off until at least five though wine for me is when it is cool outside. Gin and tonic or a cold beer for these hot days

    1. Sue in Italia/in the Land of Cancer: Five(ish) generally. Sometimes later, rarely earlier. Gin and tonic I enjoy occasionally. Beer? Bleah.

  2. What a pleasure too enjoy these skies with you! Great job of conveying space and time elapsed, for these are shows in the sky.

  3. I am so glad you are taking care of yourself in such trying circumstances. Love the sunset pictures, and did you know that "wine o'clock" has just made it into the dictionary? :-)

    1. DJan: I did indeed know that wine oclock has been added to the dictionary. And felt a little avant garde.

  21. What beauty! The clouds look like several colours of whipped cream being stirred together ... until the last photo, which is so unusual with the band of pink above the horizon. Well done with the camera - and with making the effort to capture the beauty and lift your spirits. Not everyone can recognize a gift when they see it, but you do that over and over.

It seems nature provided you with a gift, after helping others deal with their pain.
