Sunday Selections #380

Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.

The meme is now continued by River at Drifting through life.  The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent.  Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to River.  Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.

Like River I usually run with a theme.  The week just gone by has been busy.  Our gutters were removed and replaced.  The tradesman arrived about seven each morning and worked late too.  Lifeline and other things filled in the 'spare' time.

Each morning I took photos just after dawn and am going to share some of them.  I do love the early hours.  A soft light.  A gentle light.

There is other colour about just after dawn too.
The leaves on the ornamental cherry in the back yard just about glow...

There have been frost flowers too.  If I get lucky we will soon have mornings which are cold enough to freeze bubbles.

And, at the other end of the day, we have had splashes of more vivid colour.

This coming week is going to be busy too.  A different set of tradies (roof restoration), Lifeline, a medical procedure for himself, and (hopefully) some mulch delivered and spread.

  1. Early morning skies always have a certain glow about them.

Having your guttering removed and changed doesn't sound like a bundle of laughs though!

I hope the medical procedure is painless.

    1. LL Cool Joe: I don't think any influx of tradies can be described as a barrel (or bundle) of laughs. The guttering team was good though.

  3. You are busy indeed with trades people at your house! There seems to be no end to expense sometimes but it is only wise of course to keep the house in good repair. Hopefully we have nothing major to cope with in the near future.

    1. David Gascoigne: I hope you can escape major work too. We had put off this work (for a variety of reasons) for too long. It will be wonderful to have it done.

  6. Whether far away or up close, the beauty you capture is enjoyed around the world, EC. Nature's colours are everywhere, aren't they? And they are a balm for the spirit.

I hope the challenges of the new week go well for you and your other half.

    1. Andrew: Having tradies is indeed a 'treat'. I hope the next lot are as good as this one was though. He was prompt, efficient, cleaned up after himself and did very little damage. A rarity now. I will certainly be posting a positive review.

  11. Both sunrise and sunset skies are magic! And your leaf photos reminded me of a quote - (autumn is)...when every leaf is a flower. Can't remember right now who said that but very apt...

  43. Love the photos. Strange to see the frost as we are now fully into spring in the US. I have traveled but never lived in the southern hemisphere. But I did live near the equator, both in SE Asia and in West Africa, for a number of years. Very different seasons there--took a lot of getting used to! Anyway, wonderful photos.
