Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files. Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image.
The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life. Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle.
The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent. Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.
I usually run with a theme. This week I am continuing to revel in autumn. Yesterday morning (too early for himself) we took a lake cruise to see the colour on the water. It was foggy and there was some low cloud when we arrived, but it cleared to a beautiful sunny (but cool) morning.

I think that much of my city is beautiful - and I am very grateful.
In other news many of you know Andrew. On Thursday of last week his long term and much loved partner R died unexpectedly. My heart goes out to Andrew and to all those that love him and/or R.
The autumn colors are lovely but what really strikes me in these photos are the stillness of the lakes, or rivers? Either way, it's so peaceful and beautiful to see such still waters.

River Fairchild: Believe me, I took LOTS of photos. Also for a change. I would have liked to have seen more fog which is mystical and magical on the water, but was delighted by the colour. Only a few appointments in the week to come.

DeleteYou were out so early some of those boats were still wearing their pyjamas! I LOVE the lake views with all the different autumn colours. I'm still getting teary when I think of Andrew and Ray.

DeleteHi EC - getting up early has never much impressed me - but always done ... safari trips were a little challenging - really early! So pleased the weather is being kind at last for you ... at the rate we're going - mid-summer will be here before we get any summer sun! Still the plants and nature are enjoying it. I can't say I liked the look of the housing at the lake's edge - perhaps it's better to actually see - seemed a bit of a blight compared to the rest of the lake's tranquility.

DeleteI've wandered along by a very small portion of the side of your Lake Burley Griffin, but have never ventured on a cruise on the waters. If I ever manage to visit Australia again, I'll definitely try it! A couple of years ago I read Boy Swallows Universe by Trent Dalton. Loved the book. Now I'm reading his second book, All Our Shimmering Skies. Enjoying that one too.
