Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files. Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image.
The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life.
Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks),
and I have accepted the mantle.
The
rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent. Post some photos
under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Sorry I still
haven't succeeded in working out how to do a blog hop. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.
I
usually run with a theme. Sorry for my recent absence from the blogosphere. Things went a bit pear shaped (as an aside where does that phrase come from?).
I have been in hospital again twice since I last wrote. A massive infection and then an allergy to an antibiotic (and a sensitivity to another). I will need both chemotherapy and radiation treatment but that cannot start until the infections have been kicked to the curb. I have appointments with the respective teams in the next ten days.
For the moment I am home again and glad to be here.
And it is STILL a beautiful world.
I LOOOOOOOVE the sky shots. Love those. I haven't played with sky shots yet with the new lens. Thanks for the idea! I am happy to read that you're home for the moment but sad that you have to go through all of this. Sending much love and huggs your way with a great big side of boogie boogie.
ReplyDeleteThe Happy Whisk: I am addicted to skyscapes. Have fun playing and thanks for your wishes.
DeleteBeautiful, the artwork, the yellow tulips, and the sky. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteSandi: The art work is at the hospital and I was very glad to see it.
DeleteSo sorry to hear about the infections and sensitivities.. I too have sensitivities to some antibiotics (makes taking new ones a bit scary). I have had radiation for Breast cancer, but refused chemo (and since my BC was caught early stages - refusing was an option). Sending good vibes and prayers your way... and hopefully all will be well. And I agree (despite it all), the world is still a wonderful place.
ReplyDeleteRian: I hear you on the scary factor with new antibiotics. The one I am allergic too gave truly nasty reactions. I am grateful it was oral and not one of the many they are feeding me intravenously. The initial discussions with the chemo/radiation teams will discuss prognosis and we can go from there. I suspect I will take their advice unless the prognosis is bad. And hooray for our wonderful world.
DeleteLaura Eno - You’ve been through the wringer with the bad reactions to the antibiotics and yet you’re here sharing beauty and bounty to all of us! Thank you so much for the updates and we are collectively cheering you on. Many hugs and much love.
ReplyDeleteLaura Eno: Many, many thanks. I am endlessly grateful to my friends in the blogosphere.
DeleteThe world is more beautiful with you in it my dear friend. And those yellow tulips symbolize hope going forward into the unknown.

Wisewebwoman: Aren't those crocus gorgeous? They made me think of hope and sunshine too. And thank you. Always.
DeleteI admire how you approach life.
ReplyDeleteSending you a friendly hug.
contempladoraocidental: Thank you. Hugs gratefully received.
DeleteI stole some trees.
ReplyDeleteMike: Hopefully I will have some new and different ones in the coming weeks.
Aferradetes fortes, Sue.
sa lluna: I hope the infections are defeated soon too - and revel in the beauty of the world. Thank you.
DeleteA beautiful selection of images
ReplyDeleteroentare: And it is a beautiful morning here. Crisp and cool but with bright sunshine. And the camellias are coming out.
DeleteThanks so much for a great post despite your health issues! And for your great spirit.
ReplyDeleteBoud: Thank you. Doom and gloom does me no favours.
DeleteGo, Sue, go!!
ReplyDeleteSean Jeating: Slowly, but I am indeed going.
DeleteMay my hugs keep you going, my dear.
DeleteSean Jeating. Many thanks.
DeleteWhat stunning art work on the what looks like a medical building. I love to see more of that on buildings.
ReplyDeleteYour skies look hazy, as ours do at the moment.
I am glad you are home, where I am sure you feel better than in hospital.
Andrew:it feels MUCH better to be home. The art work is at the hospital and I was very glad to see it.
DeleteIm so pleased to see you back! And cheering you on. Nobody needs complications when theyre already struggling.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous gentle skies in these shots 🩷🩷
Kylie. It is much better to be home and thanks for the cheers. Less complications would be v welcome.
DeleteVery sorry to hear that! Continued prayers for you.
ReplyDeleteAlex J C avanaugh: Thank you
DeleteWow..... I like that ..... and it is STILL a beautiful world.
ReplyDeleteHaddock: It IS a beautiful world
DeleteI am glad to hear that you are back at home, Sue, even though you still have a daunting journey ahead of you. I know that you are strong and you are going to need all the strength you can muster. I will be thinking of you. With love, David.
ReplyDeleteDavid M Gascoingne:Thank you. I really really hope to stay home this time.
DeleteIt is indeed still a beautiful world. I love the indigenous art, is that the hospital? The yellow tulips are very bright.
ReplyDeleteRiver: it is. The art is indeed at the hospital. Lovely isn’t it?
DeleteOoops' I see they are crocuses.
ReplyDeleteRiver: Our tulips are not as advanced but the crocus are lovely. No scent either so you could enjoy them.
DeleteThe sky shots are breathtaking as usual! So very glad that you're back here, but sorry about the infection, hope that's crushed asap. Wishing you a smoother month ahead. All the very best always.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're out of the hospital for now. Hope that infection kicks in your immune system to kill cancer cells. I'm so glad to see a post from you and know you're still out there. It is a wonderful world.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are wonderful! I'm glad to see your post and that you're home. As I've told you before, my husband and I are going through the same process, and it's not the first time. He's in good spirits and we're doing well. I wish you strength and everything will be fine!
ReplyDeleteLovely selection once again and wonderful to see a post from you.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with it all. Antibiotics are great but can and do cause havoc for some. Take care.
Good to know you are home. Wishing you all that is good. Thank you for sharing your photos, sweet of you to do that knowing that you’ve been in hospital. Hope that infection clears up quickly.
ReplyDeleteI think you can see that there are many people, like me, who care about you. I'm glad you were able to get some of your famous sky pictures. Laura and I are in good shape--- at least for being of a certain age. The sickness in the USA is far more of a concern. I will continue to think positive thoughts at you... Hugs from the other half of the world.
ReplyDeleteDear EC
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed still a beautiful world and you are so good at finding the beauty and joy that makes your heart soar. We are all thinking about you and sending positive thoughts as you continue on this journey.
Sending you virtual hugs and good wishes for a peaceful week.
Best wishes
Ellie
I am glad to hear you are home where I trust you will heal quickly. Being home always helps!
ReplyDeleteYou are in my thoughts often, EC. Take care, my friend.
Hi EC - I've been following along ... and realise now the serious aspect is still ahead - so I'm pleased you're feeling easier from that awful infection and the allergy. All I can say is all the very best as things progress ... you've been in my thoughts ... I'm just glad you're home for now. With easy thoughts and outcomes next week - big hugs - Hilary
ReplyDeleteHi EC, I am commenting from my phone and it won’t accept my url. It is absolutely lovely to know that you are back home. I love seeing those two trees and especially the crocuses. When I was a child the golden and purple crocuses used to pop up beneath the cherry tree each spring. You’ve made me want to go and find some bulbs to plant, Kim
ReplyDeleteTWICE?! That is so sad. You take care.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping you are getting ready for another bout of medical pushups. This is getting really old, isn't it? Thinking of you every day, Sending love and virtual hugs, too.
