Sunday Selections #135

Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.

The meme is now continued by River at Drifting through life.  The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent.  Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to River.

Like River, I generally run with a theme. Essentially this week I am running with not one but three of my obsessions.  Click on the photos to embiggen.

Riot Kitty is not a fan of birds, so I am going to post other beauty in the sky for her.  The first is Tuesday's sunset, and the second yesterday's dawn (and yes, I did rush out to do the dressing gown dance again).

All Consuming commented on my last post that she likes the small and delicate daffodils best.  I don't think they come much smaller and more delicate that this...

And I am also featuring an Eastern Rosella again.  These delightful little birds brighten each and every day when they come to visit.  They are low on the pecking order, but still manage to do quite nicely (this one is enjoying pieces of green apple).

Who knew?

Before my gardening obsession reached its current levels a daffodil was a daffodil was a daffodil.  And now my eyes have been opened.

There are just so many different flowers, all bearing the daffodil (or jonquil) name.

His high and skinniness still can't often get outside, so yesterday I trotted out and picked one of most of the daffodils and jonquils which are flowering at the moment.  And yes, for a change, if you click on the photo is will magically enlarge.

Aren't there a lot of different colours and shapes?  And these are just the early flowering variety.  There are more (lots more) yet to come into bloom.  Woo Hoo.

And I love these crocus too.

I am being a bit lazy this week.  Just the one photo.  Well two.  Doesn't he think he is just Lord Muck?  That position, warming his belly on the fish tank light is a particular favourite.  He also likes to peer around daffodils.

Mostly Daffodils (again)

Another truly beautiful day.  I headed off to the pool about 6.30, leaving the smaller portion blissfully slumbering.  Mean soul that I am I knew he would be woken sooner rather than later.  I had left the cats inside and Jazz had already made it clear that he wanted to go out.  NOW.   I refuse to let them out until it is fully light, and he follows me to the bus stop (on a busy road) so there was a reason for my unkindness.  Or do I mean another reason?  And the smaller portion (whose preference is for getting up at the crack of noon) was indeed woken before eight.

When I got home again we both wandered outside with the camera.  Every day more and more things burst into bloom.

As we wandered past the dining room, we heard Jazz shrieking at us.  He had brought himself inside, but was objecting to us being outside while he was in (and on the table to boot).  What a little charmer he is.

Most of the daffodils come from mixed collections so I rarely know what they are called.  I love them though, in all their infinite variety.  Which I had never known or guessed at before I had a garden of my own.
