Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files. Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image. 

The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life.  Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle. 

 

The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent.  Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.

 

I usually run with a theme. This week it is again snippets from home.  We have had some much needed rain this week, and a lot of grey days.  Andrew mentioned that he had discovered how difficult it was to photograph the beauty of dew drops, so in a rare dry interlude I went out to try and capture rain drops.  Andrew is right. Sharing the sparkle that they give to plants and the lawn is not easy.

Not only are the lilies going gangbusters, the orchids continue to flower.

I also delighted the beauty of this gone to seed weed and the delicacy of this fragile parasol mushroom.

I usually run with a theme. We had a very wet few days here.  I loved it, and the garden will benefit, but not everyone feels the same way.

Jazz loathes wet weather and punishes me for it.  That said, he didn't suffer too badly - though he would dispute that.

 

He used to have one white whisker, and now has several.

The garden has or will benefit from the rain - though some plants took a battering.  It was far too wet to work in the garden, but I did go out with the camera when it wasn't raining very much.

I do love seeing rain-bejewelled leaves.

Our white bottle brush is thriving.

However the birds had no escape from the rain, and many of them looked miserable.

 

The king parrots, like the crimson rosellas are low in the pecking order that on those wet days circumvented both the queue at the feeders and, briefly, the rain.

I hope that whatever the weather you find beauty, comfort and joy in the week to come.

I usually run with a theme. We have had a few very damp days.  The garden and I loved it.  Jazz did not.  As I so often say come wander with me.

First in our garden where I delighted in the bejeweled plants.

And the wind spinner complete with spider webs and rain drops.

The snail was enjoying the weather too.

Then to a different (and damper walk).  I had yet another bloody medical appointment - but found beauty on the way.

 

This appointment was close to yet another of my cities man-made lakes.  Lakes I am very grateful for.
