Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.
The meme is now continued by River at Drifting through life. The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent. Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to River. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.
Like River I usually run with a theme. This week? Things which have made me smile.
The first two photos belong to the youngest of my brothers. He volunteers each week at our local zoo. A LOT of the work he does is essentially shovelling shit. However he also gets some very big rewards. This week he shared his shift with a baby ring-tailed lemur. His smile says it all.
I am happy for him, but I am also more than a little jealous. That baby is just gorgeous. I am particularly taken with its toes... (embiggen and you will see what I mean. sooooo cute.)
Our cacti are flowering. Which always pleases me.
Tiny red flowers.
Those tiny flowers in close up.
The night flowering cactus is also in bloom. The flowers are huge (about eight or nine inches across). It is scented, and the blooms last just one day.
The silk tree is also in flower. Lots and lots of delicate blooms. Which were visited by a butterfly.
I am really very lucky. Which I mostly remember.
