Liebster Bloggy Love

Karen  @ Meandering...One moment please passed on this award to me today!

Liebster is a German word that translates to; dearest, beloved or in this case favorite. The idea of the Liebster Award is to give it to an up and coming blog with fewer than 200 followers. – in order to create new connections, and bring attention to their wonderful blogs.

Thanks Karen !

Here are the conditions that go along with accepting the award;

1. Thank the Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog.
2. Link back to the blogger who presented you the award.
3.  Copy and paste the Liebster Blog Award on your blog.
4. Present the award to 5 bloggers who have a following 200 or less, who you feel deserve it.
5. Let them know they have been chosen by leaving a comment on their blog.

I didn't find the fourth condition at all easy.  I love so many blogs and I spend a lot of time each day being shown beauty, educated, amused or a combination of all of those things.  So I am going to award this blog to some of the people who gave me so much assistance (moral and practical) when I started blogging a little over a year ago.

I strongly suspect that some (all?) of these bloggers are all awarded out, and may not wish to play.  Their prerogative, but their blogs all deserve this award.

Here are my five choices for this award.

Alexis, Baron von Harlot  who first encouraged me to delurk and put my toes into the waters of the blogosphere.

Ampersand Duck who introduced me to the term delurk.

River who epitomises niceness.

Jahteh whose blog contains feistiness and beauty in equal parts.

librarygirl who shares my bookish and gardening obsessions.

    1. Marshall Stacks: Thank you. I have only met one IRL and she is a honey too. And I would have added another to my list but her blog has gone private.

  2. There's an awful lot of instructions with that award but I thank you EC for your kindness. I've met Stacks, the Baron and Duckie and hope to meet River and yourself in time.

  3. Goodness, the best thing about that list is that we're mostly old blogfriends, and it's great that we all managed to get you de-lurking :) You've taken our encouragement and run with it!
Thanks for your encouragement, I've been feeling my blogging heart fading...

one thing - "Thank the Liebster Blog Award presenter".
Who is this presenter, is it the Karen you mentioned, I don't want to make a mistake and thank the wrong person.

    1. River: It is not an easy one to pass on. Too many wonderful blogs. Karen was my presenter, I am yours. Sorry about the ambiguous wording.

  5. I so enjoy your blog, and I was grateful that you didn't choose me, since I am one of those awarded out people. In the beginning it was fun, but now I pretty much ignore them, since I couldn't bear to choose between my lovely blogging friends. You richly deserve the award, and I am keeping you and SP in my thoughts as you go through some hard times.

  11. Oh, thank you, Comma-rade Elephant's Child (especially in view of my recent non-blogginess -- 11 months between posts is quite an achievement). You're such a lovely-bovely (as we say down here in Harlotville). I love your blog right back.

    1. Alexis, Baron von Harlot: Given the amount of fun I have had, and the new friends I have made as a result of you urging me to jump into the blogosphere it was the least I could do.

funny how those early blogmates tend to get under your skin. four years later, i've still got a few of my early blogmates hanging around, and have been lucky enough to meet a few in person. hope to get to meet your mates IRL...

    1. Susan Kane: I spent some time lurking in the shadows, reading blogs, sometimes commenting anonymously, sometimes not commenting. Then I adopted the pseudonym Chickenhearted and kept commenting. Alexis encouraged me to stop lurking (to delurk) and to start a blog of my own. Ampersand Duck explained the phrase to me - it was a new one, but so so apt.
