Grow up!

This was sent to me by a dear friend - who knows me very well although we have never met.

I would love a unicorn - almost as much as I yearn to have a dragon (or two) in my world.

My inner child is frequently the largest and healthiest part of me.  And delights in frivolity, whimsy and magic.

And, speaking of health, I am sorry I have been largely absent from the blogosphere.  I had an unfortunate reaction to some medication and have spent most of the last fortnight dealing (not well) with constant nausea, headaches and uncontrollable shivering.  It is now nearly out of my system and I am looking forward to a cup of tea.  Normal service is about to be resumed.

Concentration

Concentrating very, very hard - with eyes a little open to make sure he doesn't miss anything I am doing.

Sunday Selections #109

Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files.

The meme is now continued by River at Drifting through life.  The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent.  Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to River.

Like River I generally run with a theme.  One day this week I went into town.  I was enjoying the flower pots which hang from every lamp post, and stopped to take a photo or two.

And then I looked more closely at the stop sign in the next photo -  and started to giggle.

And yes this week, last week and the week before I have frequently wanted to stop everything...

Today's delightful whimsy

The skinny portion and I went to Tulip Top Gardens today.  As always we loved it and took perhaps fifteen million photos.  When I have gone through this slightly exaggerated number of photos I will put up a post about the gardens, because they are simply beautiful.

The entry into the gardens is down a steep slope flanked by blossom trees.  As we turned right at the bottom I started to giggle.  Canberra is the city closest to Tulip Top Gardens and rightly proud of the arboretum it is developing.

Tulip Tops, not to be outdone... (clicking on photos will enlarge them)

I do like a little bit of silliness in each and every day.

The Great American Snowman Contest

A little while ago Spectra of Spectrum Woman proposed a Great American Snowman Contest to be run over the next 100 days.

I felt the need to whinge  point out that she was being both geographically and climatically prejudiced.  She was very reasonable and extended the contest to anyone who wanted to play, using whatever materials were available which left me with nothing to complain about.

It appears that cheating is welcome and indeed almost mandatory, so without further ado I give you:

The Great Australian Snow Slut Woman.

This snow goddess was constructed while I was at school which is surely within the last 100 days years.
