Today's delightful whimsy

The skinny portion and I went to Tulip Top Gardens today.  As always we loved it and took perhaps fifteen million photos.  When I have gone through this slightly exaggerated number of photos I will put up a post about the gardens, because they are simply beautiful.

The entry into the gardens is down a steep slope flanked by blossom trees.  As we turned right at the bottom I started to giggle.  Canberra is the city closest to Tulip Top Gardens and rightly proud of the arboretum it is developing.

Tulip Tops, not to be outdone... (clicking on photos will enlarge them)

I do like a little bit of silliness in each and every day.

  3. What a fabulous way to recycle your old bras. And such pretty bras they are. I never would have thought of doing that. I'm so glad you were there with your camera.

    1. River: They looked a little too jazzy to be old bras, but it was a truly brilliant idea. Some of their cups were running over though.

  7. What a unique way to display ones blossoms. It gives me an idea for next spring, however, this might give my relatives a reason to cart me off to the nearest rest home.

I am especially fond of the purple and black, though! :-)

  9. Thank you for sharing, that made me smile, just what I needed. There are some lovely bras in that arBRAetum and with Breast Cancer Awareness happening all over the place, this ties right in. xxx

    1. BECKY: I also thought that bras like these were only for the single rosebud type of woman, and then I looked closer. Some of these could take an entire pot plant. I may have to investigate further.

  14. Dear EC, this bit of "silliness" really delighted me. And not only did I get to laugh, but I got to see the variety of materials from which bras are made today. Mine are the old standbys--white or black. These show real imagination! Peace.

And I love the look of your cats Jazz and Jewel

  21. Why am I noyt surprized that this made J. Cosmo "tit"ter? You'd better watch out! Your photos might cause him to break out in verse! I've heard of stuffing bras with tissues and such, to supplement Mother Nature, but never flowers----love them all!

    1. Molly: I believe you were thinking of him 'busting out' in verse rather than breaking. I am still smiling thinking of this section of the gardens.

There's a bar in my neighborhood, the inside of which is covered with bras. Apparently women take them off after too many drinks? :-)

    1. Pearl: I don't think that I have ever been drunk enough to take off my bra in a public place. And I don't think it would help in my overwhelming symptom of wanting a place to lie down and sleep either. Obviously I need to test this theory further...(not).

Secondly, how funny is it that I thought it was Superman's bra, rather than Supergirl's?
