Sunday Selections #772

Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files. Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image.

The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life.  Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle.

The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent.  Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.

I usually run with a theme. This has been another busy week, with a myriad of appointments and some chasing up of professionals who haven't done what they promised.  Yesterday morning I had to have yet another blood test.  Remembering a truly beautiful tree outside the pathology centre I took my camera with me.

So this week is yet more autumnal colour and some left over summer blooms.  It was a grey and overcast day - but some of the colour really popped.

This is a mural at a local church.

Yet again blogger has chosen its own way to order my photos.

I hope you find colour, beauty and joy in the week to come.

    1. Manuel: Thank you. There are three churches in that area - within a hundred yards of each other. All of them are in modern 'repurposed' buildings but only that one has a mural on its side. I do delight in colour - and welcome it whenever I find it.

  2. River Fairchild - Beautiful sparks of color for a grey day. Blogger shuffling your photos adds an element of surprise, no? 😂
Hoping for less appointments for you in the coming week, better sleep, less pain, and bundles of delight in the ordinary. Hugs, my sister across the sea!

  5. Beautiful, Sue. I often think that colors pop so much more on gray or overcast days. Sunlight can be harsh and burn out colors. The colors in your photos are beautiful - this is why fall is my favorite season.

    1. Carola Bartz: Autumn is one of my favourite seasons too - and you are right about bright sunlight washing out some colours. The claret ash trees look brighter in the sun though.

  6. Dear EC
Thank you for sharing those beautiful autumnal colours.
I'm sorry that it has been an appointment filled week and hope that this week will be a better one for you.
Stopping to look at nature is always a healing activity...we all need to do it more!
I hope that you also find more colour, beauty and joy in the week ahead.
    Best wishes

  7. It doesn't matter that blogger has messed up the order of your photographs because, I think your Autumn leaves look so beautiful and I like the mural at a local church too.

I hope you get answers from your tests quickly.
    My good wishes.

    All the best Jan

  14. Those red leaves are glorious! I love when they fall so deeply they create a deep carpet to swish through. I hope those professionals get their act together and that your blood work turns out to be unremarkable. Thank you for the wonderful colours, including those sweet pink blooms. We are in between seasons here at the moment, but there are tiny green leaves just starting to come out and they do my heart good. Have a good week, dear friend!

  22. Hi EC - as you say some popping autumnal colours ... which I prefer to the church mural - yet so appreciate their artistic abilities, yet nature is better!! It looks beautiful ... well yesterday was bright blue sky down here by the coast - I thought the same today, but now looking up ... not so sure - we'll see! Cheers and happy, peaceful week ahead - Hilary
