Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files. Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image.
The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life. Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle.
The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent. Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.
I usually run with a theme. This has been another busy week, with a myriad of appointments and some chasing up of professionals who haven't done what they promised. Yesterday morning I had to have yet another blood test. Remembering a truly beautiful tree outside the pathology centre I took my camera with me.
So this week is yet more autumnal colour and some left over summer blooms. It was a grey and overcast day - but some of the colour really popped.
This is a mural at a local church.
Yet again blogger has chosen its own way to order my photos.
I hope you find colour, beauty and joy in the week to come.
Manuel: Thank you. There are three churches in that area - within a hundred yards of each other. All of them are in modern 'repurposed' buildings but only that one has a mural on its side. I do delight in colour - and welcome it whenever I find it.
DeleteRiver Fairchild - Beautiful sparks of color for a grey day. Blogger shuffling your photos adds an element of surprise, no? 😂
ReplyDeleteHoping for less appointments for you in the coming week, better sleep, less pain, and bundles of delight in the ordinary. Hugs, my sister across the sea!
River Fairchild: Blogger frequently surprises me - but those surprises are often unwelcome. I do find delight in the ordinary - and thank you for your wishes. And hugs.
DeleteWhether the photos are in or ut of order does not less how beautiful they are.
ReplyDeleteAnne in the kitchen: It really was a delightful walk.
DeleteThe autumn leaves are something I would miss this year as I am abroad.
ReplyDeleteroentare: I hope you find beauty (and photograph it) where ever you are.
DeleteBeautiful, Sue. I often think that colors pop so much more on gray or overcast days. Sunlight can be harsh and burn out colors. The colors in your photos are beautiful - this is why fall is my favorite season.
ReplyDeleteCarola Bartz: Autumn is one of my favourite seasons too - and you are right about bright sunlight washing out some colours. The claret ash trees look brighter in the sun though.
DeleteDear EC
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing those beautiful autumnal colours.
I'm sorry that it has been an appointment filled week and hope that this week will be a better one for you.
Stopping to look at nature is always a healing activity...we all need to do it more!
I hope that you also find more colour, beauty and joy in the week ahead.
Best wishes
Ellie
Ellie Foster: Thank you. I 'should' be in the garden, planting the numerous bulbs that have arrived this week. Perhaps later. And yes, the natural world is often solace and heart balm for me. And for you I know.
DeleteIt doesn't matter that blogger has messed up the order of your photographs because, I think your Autumn leaves look so beautiful and I like the mural at a local church too.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get answers from your tests quickly.
My good wishes.
All the best Jan
Lowcarb team member ~Jan: This really is a lovely time of year. I am sure that you are also enjoying your spring. I am hoping that this blood test is a bit same old/same old. It is monitoring my white blood cell count to ensure it hasn't increased dramatically.
DeleteMmmm ... and here the days are getting longer, and the garden calls. My good thoughts are with you, Sue.
ReplyDeleteSean Jeating. The garden is calling me too. Enjoy your time in it.
DeleteYour fall colors are wonderful to see. I don't know how your pictures were supposed to be arranged, but they look great to me! Sending you lots of healing energy and love. Oh, and virtual hugs, too.
ReplyDeleteDJan: It didn't matter so much with this post, but a while ago when I wanted to show my Out of the Darkness walk from beginning to end it was infuriating that blogger wouldn't let me. The colours are a treat aren't they? And thank you. Hugs received and reciprocated.
DeleteI hope your autumnal colors last for a while.
ReplyDeleteMike: So do I. Some trees haven't started to change, and others have lost most of their leaves.

ReplyDeleteGood morning, EC...another leisurely stroll through the beauty of Nature. Thanks for inviting me along with you! :)
I hope you have a good week ahead...take it easy, if you can. Cuddles to Batty and Odie.
Lee: Thank you. Believe me, my walks are very leisurely - even when I don't have a camera. I hope you have a great week.
DeleteGreat beauty!
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to comprehend it is Autumn there! We are in the grips of a hot Spring.
Sandi: Thank you. I would prefer our autumn to a hot spring with summer looming.
DeleteYour fall colors are lovely.
ReplyDeleteJoanne Noragon: I think so too.
DeleteI love all the color in your trees. I, too, like color. Glenda
ReplyDeleteGlenda: We are lucky here and have colour all year. Which I am grateful for.
DeleteThose red leaves are glorious! I love when they fall so deeply they create a deep carpet to swish through. I hope those professionals get their act together and that your blood work turns out to be unremarkable. Thank you for the wonderful colours, including those sweet pink blooms. We are in between seasons here at the moment, but there are tiny green leaves just starting to come out and they do my heart good. Have a good week, dear friend!
ReplyDeletejenny_o: Spring is a delightful season and the fresh new green does my heart good too - despite being a fan of winter.
DeleteFingers crossed on the blood. And the professionals. And I really, really hope your week is great.
The colour in the second photo does really 'pop'. Lovely photos. If autumnal tree colours didn't herald winter, autumn would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteAndrew: That is the tree outside the pathology centre. It is incredibly vivid. I like winter - so autumn is fine by me.
DeleteThe autumn colors are lovely and I like the way the mural includes the dove of the church logo.
ReplyDeleteI hope you find lots of beauty this week and the blood results are "same old"
kylie: Thank you. On all counts.
DeleteThe mural is very cheerful to look at and I love the reds and gold of the autumn leaves.
ReplyDeleteRiver: I am a big, big fan of autumn. And really like that mural too. I like the church's attitude to refugees and climate change as well.
DeleteRed leaves look so beautiful in autumn season...i always love how the autumn can build a melancholy effect but in beautiful way....Like all of your photos.
ReplyDeleteMbul Kecil: Thank you. I don't feel melancholy in autumn - but do appreciate the beauty.
DeleteThere's so much beauty in your area right now, thank you for simply sharing the color of your world.
ReplyDeleteMy selections will be over here.
messymimi: Hooray for beauty. As always I am looking forward to your selections.
DeleteCertainly a good show of autumn there EC. Lovely to see.
ReplyDeleteMargaret D: I just released you from spam jail again. Lots and lots of autumn on display here - which is lovely.
DeleteI enjoyed your autumnal photographs. Hoping that everything goes well with your appointments and your time is your own again very soon Dear. Aloha
ReplyDeleteCloudia: I am glad that you enjoyed the photos. I don't think I have many appointments this week.
DeleteHi EC - as you say some popping autumnal colours ... which I prefer to the church mural - yet so appreciate their artistic abilities, yet nature is better!! It looks beautiful ... well yesterday was bright blue sky down here by the coast - I thought the same today, but now looking up ... not so sure - we'll see! Cheers and happy, peaceful week ahead - Hilary
ReplyDeleteHilary Melton-Butcher: Thank you. I agree that nature is better - but there is room for both. No blue skies here for a few days, but negligible rain. Sigh.
DeleteWell, at least you made the outing more than worthwhile with these excellent Autumn pictures!
ReplyDeleteBill: If I had to go there anyway, I was going to make the best of it. Himself was still asleep when I returned. He liked my photos though.
DeleteYou really are deep into fall now, looks like, from the gorgeous colors.
ReplyDeleteStrayer: We are, but some trees in our yard haven't yet started to change colour. Others have lost most of their leaves.
DeleteFall is wonderful whether in Canada or Australia, Sue. Enjoy the crisp, cool weather while you may.
ReplyDeleteDavid M. Gascoigne: I am. I am revelling in both the colour and the coolth.
DeleteSome brilliant reds!
ReplyDeleteAlex J. Cavanaugh: There are aren't there?
DeleteThe dominant red and pink colors in your photos - delight the eyes and uplift the spirit.
ReplyDelete(I'm kind of surprised of the church's mural. One wouldn't find that on our worship places. Anyway, I like it).
DUTA: The colours really lift my spirits - as does the fresh cool air. This is the only church that I am aware of that has a mural but I like it too. It is otherwise a very drab building. They join in Floriade (our Spring flower festival) too.
DeleteThank you for sharing these beautiful autumn colors with us. Out of order or not, it's all beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Hugs,
Julia
Julia: Autumn is a gorgeous time of year isn't it? You have a great week too.
DeleteGlorious colors! Are you feeling better?
ReplyDeletee: I am still trying to work out what my new normal is and adjusting to it. The cooler weather helps a lot - as does the beauty of the season.
DeleteThe blooms and reds are glorious! Hope you are feeling well, EC.
ReplyDeleteMarie Smith: It is nice to have the blooms and the autumnal colours together isn't it? I am doing ok, and hope that you and yours are too.
DeleteLovely autumn colors, I was always partial to the deep reds, yellows, and oranges. Hope life is treating all right and you'll have a great new week ahead,
ReplyDeleteRasmaSandra: Thank you. I love colour. All of it.
DeleteWhat fabulous fall colours - thanks for sharing them! (And I hope you "passed" your blood test.) ;-)
ReplyDeleteDiane Henders: I hope I passed that test too. Definitely a case of no news is good news. If I don't hear from them all is well. And hooray for colour.
DeleteMarvelous Autumn colors! Great photos! Sounds like you have been very busy and I do hope you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteDeniseinVA: Thank you. Aren't the colours a treat? It is hard not to smile at them. And I don't even try.
DeleteBeautiful trees in the Autumn EC.
ReplyDeleteBob Bushell: I think so too. Enjoy your spring.
DeleteThe turning of the leaves never fails to impress. :)
ReplyDeleteBea: Never, ever.
DeleteI've only ever seen the leaves turning colors when I visited New York with my late husband. We have tree's that lose their leaves around here in the Winter time but the colors like on these tree's you shared just aren't around here. It was so fun to see it. I hope you are well.
ReplyDeleteMary Kirkland: I wait for the trees to change colour each year, and am so glad that we get a 'proper' autumn here. I am okish and hope you are too.
DeleteOut of order or in order your photos are amazing. And I do see why you had to portray that tree!
ReplyDeleteHoping for speedy and good results from all the testing.
And lots of Bright red orange - my May colour - around there. My children went "leafing" - wading through and kicking up leaves from such drifts.
DeleteCharlotte (MotherOwl): Thank you. I did think of your colour of the month as I walked. And love the colour in such a small area.
DeleteDespite all your problems, you still manage to find beauty. Good for you!
ReplyDeletegigi-hawaii: I am a beauty addict and look for it (and find it) every day.
DeleteThat mural is so happy and colorful
ReplyDeleteKaren Jones Gowen: It is great isn't it?
DeleteHope you are enjoying the mild temperatures.
ReplyDeleteGreat colours, as usual!
Caterina: I am loving the cooler temperatures. Himself and the cats are not as happy as I am.
DeleteThank you for continuing to share your photographic journey with us, and for keeping the spirit of Sunday Selections alive. Read my new blog post.
ReplyDeleteMELODY JACOB: This meme has been running for a long time and is a heap of fun. Perhaps you will join us some week.
DeleteHere things are blooming and there the colors are changing..
ReplyDeleteHena Tayeb: We have a few things still in bloom too. Enjoy your spring.
DeleteOh my gosh, so much beauty. Breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteHave a wondrous day.
Sandra sandracox.blogspot.com
Sandra Cox: Isn't it lovely - and only a short walk away.
DeleteSpectacular colours EC, brought such a lift to my day, so many favourites I can't list them. Autumn colours have always enchanted me.
ReplyDeleteXO
WWW
Wisewebwoman: Thank you. Yet another thing we share.
DeleteThese are so beautiful--especially the tree.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea to have a place to post photos taken with good intent that were never posted and are still sitting in the archives. I saved the link so I can join in on Sunday.
(Found you through Sandi's blog)
Great-Granny Grandma: Welcome and thank you. I hope that you can join us - the more the merrier.
DeleteThat's a lot of color!
ReplyDeleteHere in Florida our autumn is mostly brown with a bit of green.
Thanks for brightening our day!
Wally Jones: I am grateful that autumn is one of our most colourful seasons - before we move into the pared back elegance of winter. I hope you too have a bright and beautiful day.
DeleteIt is a glorious time of the year.
ReplyDeleteJ Cosmo Newbery: It is.
DeleteSuch gorgeous red leaves, Sue! In Colorado we have beautiful golds, but not the reds unless someone has planted an ornamental tree. Here we're celebrating baby leaves and new growth. We live in such a beautiful world wherever we are and whatever the season! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteFundy Blue: Australia has only one deciduous tree so these are imports. Beautiful imports - and I agree that we do indeed live in a beautiful world.
DeleteWow, I had no idea that Australia has only one deciduous tree!
DeleteFundy Blue: I learned that fact late too - we have always had imports everywhere I have lived.
