Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files. Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image.
The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life. Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle.
The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent. Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.
I usually run with a theme. This week I am reverting to type and featuring skyscapes. I am usually outside just after first light (dealing with garbage and kitty litter). Often I take the camera with me.
We had a full moon this week. As usual I tried to take photos and as usual I failed. I enjoyed our dawns though - despite light frosts.
I hope your weeks are bright and beautiful.
Son muy buenos los paisajes. Te doy mi enhorabuena.
ReplyDeleteFeliz domingo.
Miradas desde mi lente: Thank you.
DeleteI woke today feeling better about life than I have in a week. And then here I find your lovely post filled with dawn light. I'm early because it's raining here and nobody joined me on my walk, so I cut it short. I'm still feeling pretty good! :-)
ReplyDeleteDJan: I am glad you are feeling better. I worried about you. Hugs.
DeleteThe dragon's egg appeared out of the ground and rose into the sky as usual. Everyone hoped this time it wouldn't hatch.
ReplyDeleteSandi: I am a dragon lover - I hope it does hatch.
Delete😂😱🦎
DeleteRiver Fairchild - I love the moon shots. They look mysterious, and the dawn light is beautiful as well.
ReplyDeleteAnother hard week is behind us both. Hoping (as always) for an easier week ahead.
Hugs to you and give my regards to Odie and Batty. The interloper as well… but don’t tell the house residents. ;-)
River Fairchild: I am very, very tired of the hard weeks. For us both. I never tire of the sky though. Fog this morning. The interloper has visited this morning and I will surreptitiously pass on your regards. Batty and Odie accept the homage that is their due.
DeleteNo picture featuring the sky and its various elements can fail. All your pictures are a delight to our eyes.
ReplyDeleteDUTA: What a lovely thing to say. I never, ever tire of the sky. And was out early this morning capturing (trying to capture) the mystery and beauty of fog.
DeleteWonderful photos,. Simply love the full moon and it is among my favorite photo subjects, I hope you have a great new week ahead,
ReplyDeleteRasmaSandra: Like you, I delight in the full moon - and this was a particularly spectacular one.
DeleteDear EC
ReplyDeleteGorgeous skies for us to enjoy. I feel your pain with the moon photos as I constantly fail with them. My camera does not do low light levels at all but sometimes it takes the most marvellous floral images, so I just have to accept its deficiencies.
Have a lovely week.
Best wishes
Ellie
Ellie Foster: It is a screw loose in the operator rather than camera deficiencies which are my problem. A work in progress. I hope you and your garden have a lovely week too.
DeleteSome of those sunset photos almost look like something is on fire.
ReplyDeleteAlex J. Cavanaugh: Sunrise rather than sunset. Always the same, always different. Always a joy.
DeleteLove the pink/blue skies.
ReplyDeleteMarty: Many of our dawns are soft like that - even when the temperatures are not.
DeleteSimply lovely Autumn skies!
ReplyDeleteFrost is a concept foreign to us, even in winter.
Gini and I hope you are well and are able to enjoy the coming New Week.
Wally Jones: Frost is an alien concept to many in Australia too. We are rapidly approaching the time when it is a daily delight. And delight it is. I hope you two have a magical nature packed week.
DeleteThe tree silhouettes against the morning sky are just lovely. I love to see the structure of a bare tree, it's so interesting. I hope you have a good week ahead. Hugs - Carola
ReplyDeleteCarola Bartz: Snap. I really like bare branches filigreed against the sky. You have a great week too.
DeleteThe pink sky is quite pleasant to see. Mysterious feel to it
ReplyDeleteRoentare: A soft pink - as if the dawn is blushing.
DeleteMorning has broken.
ReplyDeleteAnd, of course, the moon framed by branches has something.
Thanks for doing mornings for a night owl like me, Sue.
Sean Jeating: I am happy to do mornings - and grateful to the night owls.
DeleteFrom soft to somewhat short of a shepherd's warning. Lovely. The moon was impressive last week.
ReplyDeleteAndrew: The moon was truly impressive wasn't it? I mourn that I wasn't able to capture the splendour.
DeleteYour skyscapes are all beautiful. We had a big fat moon here too and it was quite bright but since I can't take good moon picture I just looked at the moon and selfishly enjoyed it smily face all by myself.
ReplyDeleteI wish you a good and cheery week.
Hugs, Julia
Julia: It was amazing wasn't it? It even coloured the sky here before it rose. I had a big, big smily face on too - but would have liked to capture the beauty.
DeleteEarly morning beauty....cold early mornings from the reports I see! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great, relaxing week ahead, EC...take good care. My cuddles to Batty and Odie.
Lee: It has been cool - but lovely. I hope your week is great too.
DeleteI enjoy the fact that even though you are in ‘suburbia’ surrounded by other homes you still are able to see wonderful sunrises.
ReplyDeleteCool is the word - enjoyed by many - ‘ooh it’s a bit chilly’ for others😊
Cathy: We are lucky and can and do enjoy sunrise and sunset. Cool is my word. My partner leans towards the expletive cold description. I think that cats are on his side.
DeleteThe sunrise provides very enjoyable moments.
ReplyDeleteCaterina: It does. Almost every day.
DeleteLove those sky shots especially the first!
ReplyDeleteMarie Smith: Thank you. I marvelled at them all.
DeleteYour tablet does a fine job with the moon. Ethereal and hanging perfectly there, up in the sky.
ReplyDeleteJoanne Noragon: Camera rather than tablet. And the moon was glorious.
DeleteThe two moon shots are wonderfully hazy, they could be book covers for ghost stories! I need to go and deal with kitty litter myself after sleeping in...
ReplyDeleteRiver: Kitty litter is the only chore I never neglect. Self preservation. Thank you - I hadn't thought of ghost stories.
DeleteLove the moon shots, ghostly.
ReplyDeleteXO
WWW
Wisewebwoman: Another who saw the ghostly aspect I missed. It really was a wonderful moon.
DeleteThe early morning sky as the sun rises, lovely EC.
ReplyDeleteMargaret D: I really should remember to take the camera as I deal with the kitty litter every morning - and thank you.
DeleteI enjoyed your sweet shots and would not describe them as a failure in any way! I especially liked the pre-dawn Frost. Thank you honey. Aloha!
ReplyDeleteCloudia: If I lived in your climate I would long for frosts. And would probably be almost alone.
DeleteThose last 3 or 4 prove that you did NOT fail to make some beautiful pictures. In answer to your question, the barn was torn down, not long after the picture was taken. I don't know why.
ReplyDeleteBill: Such a shame the barn was torn down. And thank you.
DeleteA light frost at dawn is just about perfect in my book.
ReplyDeleteDavid M. Gascoigne: I am already looking forward to our hard frosts - both for the frost flowers and for the chance to play with frozen bubbles again.
DeleteYou're an early riser? I like Sandi turning it into an enormous dragon's eye. I think I'd be running the other direction.
ReplyDeleteStrayer: I am an early riser. I am up well before dawn most days.
DeleteYour photos are just beautiful. I think I truly appreciate the sunrises I see them because I see them so rarely. Now if you want to talk to me about late night skies . . .
ReplyDeleteAnne in the kitchen: I see most dawns. Foggy again this morning. And see most sunsets too - and appreciate the beauty at both ends of the day. Your hours would do me in, though himself thrives on them.
DeleteAhhh, lovely skies! Wishing you a bright and beautiful week, too.. :-)
ReplyDeleteDiane Henders: Lovely skies indeed - though I appreciated yesterday's and today's foggy start too.
DeleteMoon shots or sun shots?
ReplyDeleteMike: Mostly dawning sun. Two moon shots.
DeleteOh you did get some great pictures.
ReplyDeleteMary Kirkland: I rescued you from spam again. Thank you.
DeleteYour dawns are quite beautiful. It's not easy to see the dawn from here.
ReplyDeleteMy selections are over here.
messymimi: We are very lucky and can see both from the front yard of our home. I really enjoyed your selections too.
DeleteBeautiful skyscapes. And no telephone poles and wires in your pictures!
ReplyDeletegigi-hawaii: I had to check. Sadly there are wires in some of my photos - but they are at a minimum.
DeleteFantastic Photos.
ReplyDeleteHave a great new week
LoveT. Welcome and thank you.
DeleteI love your skyscapes; the Moon is an elusive motive, so much larger the triumph whn we suceed.
ReplyDeleteI hope for easier weeks ahead.
Charlotte (MotherOwl): Thank you. On both counts.
DeleteI find your photos beautiful! It’s such a lovely time of the day to take them.
ReplyDeleteDeniseinVA: Thank you. It is one of my favourite times of day.
DeleteI'm not up to see the dawn so it was nice to see your pictures. You got some good shots of the progression of light. The only time I'm up on purpose before 8 is if I have an early morning flight somewhere.
ReplyDeleteSandy: An early morning flight is a thing of the past for me. Himself would agree with you - though he doesn't miss dawn at all.
DeleteSome very subtly pretty skies here. Thank you :)
ReplyDeletekylie: I am amazed at how subtle dawn often is - though occasionally it blazes.
DeleteHi EC - lovely skies - and ours quite frankly look as cold as yours at the moment ... on the other hand with dollops of rain drops too!! Cheers and I hope life eases up for you this coming week - and yes hats off to Batty and Odie - while the interloper can have their perambulatory walks ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteHilary Melton-Butcher: Thank you. We have definitely had some cool starts but the interlopers are undaunted. And our inside boys remain toasty. We have rain forecast for later in the week.
DeleteThe sky is always the perfect picture. Never ending glorious gorgeousness is found in the sky. Forgive me, if I'm feeling a little moved. I just went through quite a few photos and found some most excellent ones I've taken over the years of the sky. xoxo
ReplyDeletemail4rosey: I am in total agreement with you about the sky and have folder after folder of photos of it - in all its moods.
DeleteYou absolutely, definitely did not fail! I look at many photographs every week and yours give joy, beautiful shots always
ReplyDeleteKim: From a photographer of your calibre this is high praise indeed. I am a beauty addict and there is a heap of it about...
DeleteAnd this morning we have blissful (and much needed) rain.
Dear me, this last week of May has simply flown by.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe that it was last Sunday you posted these lovely photographs and now it's Saturday (and June) when I finally get around to visiting you!
I think your early morning skies and sunrise are lovely to see.
I hope the week has been a good one for you.
Sending my good wishes.
All the best Jan
Lowcarb team member ~Jan: Thank you. This year is rocketing past isn't it?
Deletelove the pink reflections on those clouds.. winter has arrived and very wet again in Sydney- stay warm and dry!
ReplyDeleteAnna: I love those soft gentle pinks too. Grey today and windy. And definitely chilly. Dry though.
