Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files. Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image.
The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life. Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle.
The
rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent. Post some photos
under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Sorry I still
haven't succeeded in working out how to do a blog hop. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.
I usually run with a theme. This year is rapidly drawing to a close. As I so often do, I am going to post a retrospective - this year of skyscapes. Some of them you will have seen before and others are new.

Happy New Year to you and yours. She will find her own way in without me waiting up for her. I do hope she is gentle and kind. I will not be making any resolutions either - other than to keep on keeping on.
River Fairchild - Lovely skyscapes all. I’m hoping for a gentler year to come… with all fingers and toes crossed. Not having high hopes for that outcome, but it will motivate me to look for the small things that bring a sense of peace. Maybe that’s the best lesson for me after all.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you and scritches to your furry overlords.
River Fairchild: The small things are huge in my world. And I do find peace in them. Hugs to you - and the furry overlords (currently asleep after breakfast) thank you.
DeleteHi ha tants cels com segons, com pot canviar d'un minut a l'altre estant en el mateix lloc? Màgia, només la gran màgia de la natura ho pot fer possible.
ReplyDeleteBonic recorregut del mesos, què aviat seran records...
Aferradetes i bon any, Sue.🥂
sa lluna: Thank you so much. Happy anything and everything to you too.
DeleteRainbow August gets my vote.
ReplyDeleteMike: I hadn't seen a rainbow that early before.
DeleteA lovely retrospective. I hope she is kind too. All the best to you.
ReplyDeletee: I hope so much that the coming year is kind. Hugs to you and Mercy.
DeleteHi EC - keep on going ... is what makes me happy ... for us, for you and for me ... I'll be interested next year at this time perhaps to see these and what happens this coming year. I too hope she rolls gentle in and keeps rolling peacefully along ... with thanks and sent down under with lots of hugs - and cheers! Hilary
ReplyDeleteHilary Melton Butcher: Thank you. I am hoping (without a great deal of confidence) that this year is gentler - for me, for you, for the world.
DeleteYou put together a lovely retrospective. Thank you so much for entertaining us with all your posts over the past year, and as long as I've known you for that matter. I wish you A Very Happy New Year! Maybe it be your happiest yet.
ReplyDeleteDeniseinVA: Many, many thanks. You always leave such positive comments.
DeleteI loved these pictures. I hope you have a good New Year.
ReplyDeleteMary Kirkland: Thank you - and to you and your family. Not forgetting Falcor.
DeleteDear EC
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful skyscapes to enjoy. I hope that 2025 will be a kind one too.
I send my best wishes for the New Year to you and your family and echo your comment about keeping on.
Best wishes
Ellie
Ellie Foster: I never, ever tire of the sky. Here's hoping that the coming year is gentle and kind.
DeleteMy best wishes to you and your loved ones for a Happy New Year, EC...I hope 2025 treats you well in every way all the year through.
ReplyDeleteNo resolutions here, either; and I won't be seeing the New Year in, either, unless, like last night, I'm unable to sleep. Last night was a sleepless night for me, with only a couple of hours of shut-eye sneaking in!
Take very good care...my cuddles to Batty and Odie.
Lee: Like you it will be an accident if I see the New Year in. I hope you are able to nap today.
DeleteThese skies are lining up to be so fabulous
ReplyDeleteroentare: Thank you. I never, ever tire of the sky.
Delete“Keep on keeping on” - that’s really all we can do, isn’t it? After all there are more skies waiting to be photographed and we are counting on you, Sue.
ReplyDeleteDavid M. Gascoigne: Some people have life plans and ambitions. Not me. There are indeed always skies waiting to be photographed, as there are birds for you and Miriam.
DeleteThank you for all your kindness, Sue.
ReplyDeleteMay this year's best in 2025 become the worst.
The peace of the night!
Sean Jeating: Thank you - that is a lovely wish - and to you.
DeleteBeautiful August rainbow!
ReplyDeleteSandi: It was. Just after first light and a real treat.
DeleteI love the idea of sharing a photograph from each month, especially such gorgeous images as these. I wish I'd thought to do the same. Wishing you a happy and healthy 2025, filled with flowers, photographs, frozen bubbles and birdsong.
ReplyDeleteKim: You could always welcome in the New Year with a retrospective of your glorious photos. And thank you for your all encompassing wishes. I hope your year is packed with birds. For you and for me.
DeleteI love seeing all the skyscapes you posted here. I like to remember how different it is in your neck of the woods, but the skies are pretty much the same. Happy New Year to all of us!
ReplyDeleteDJan: It is nice to think of us sharing the skies isn't it?
DeleteBeautiful array of our lovely skies.
ReplyDeleteJoanne Noragon: Thank you.

ReplyDeleteevery sky has a lovely color, but i'm interested in May, June, August and September....Greetings
Mbul Kecil: I am often out with my camera very early in the morning. And have folder after folder of skyscapes.
DeleteI love them all, especially the rainbow in my birthday month and that September one needs to have a story written about it or including it.
ReplyDeleteRiver: Your birthday month is a firm favourite - and I loved seeing that early rainbow.
DeleteThank you for the gorgeous photos. I really dug September.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year (einen guten Rutsch)! -tiny bit of German for ya. :)
Bea: Thank you - and for the tiny bit of German too. I really should have studied German at school when I had my father to help me.

ReplyDeleteBill: Thank you - and thank you for the beauty your daily posts give me. They are often one of the last things I view on line for the day and are a joy.
DeleteThe clouds make the skies different from one another. Each sky unique and special. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeletegigi-hawaii: I hope I am never so old and jaded that I look at the sky with indifference. I love the sky, and delight in its many moods.
DeleteI love this idea! I might have to do that with photos of my kids or something so you can see how much they grow each month.
ReplyDeleteThe photos of the skies are amazing!

Janie Junebug: It is wonderful to be able to share our lives though the blogosphere isn't it?
DeleteLovely idea: every month's sunset. Beautiful
ReplyDeleteHope you and yours very happy New Year 2025
Greetings orvokki
orvokki: These are mostly sunrises rather than sunsets but I delight in them - I was out this morning with the camera too. Happy New Year.

ReplyDeletemail4rosey: I hope we can both keep on keeping on.
DeleteI love your photos, and sorry that I have been lax in keeping up with your blog and everyone else's. The year was busier than expected, with far too much pulling in different directions.
ReplyDeleteCindi: Not a problem. Sometimes life gets in the way - which is right and proper.
DeleteWhat an amazing way to welcome the new year. I like them all, but January may be my favorite.
ReplyDeleteAlso stopped by to wish you a belated safe, healthy, and joyous New Year.
Bleubeard and Elizabeth: Thank you so much - on both counts.
DeleteWhat a lovely way to see the year in retrospect! Thank you, and happy new year!
