Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files. Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image.
The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life.
Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks),
and I have accepted the mantle. River may not join us this week,
depending on how her eye is adapting to the cataract surgery she had on
Thursday. If she doesn't she will be missed.
The
rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent. Post some photos
under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Sorry I still
haven't succeeded in working out how to do a blog hop. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.
I
usually run with a theme. And this week it is yet another week of balloons. After which I will switch to other obsessions.

2017
This earthbound balloon (poetic license) nudged me in the fundament to get me to move. I did.
I love seeing the balloons. Some of them are so creative.
ReplyDeleteMary Kirkland: I love seeing them too - and have thousands of photos of them.
DeleteYour balloon photos make me happy every time you post them!
ReplyDeleteAnne in the kitchen: Thank you. That is good to hear.
DeleteThe guy mimicking the t-rex is funny.
ReplyDeleteAlex J. Cavanaugh: Balloons are a joy for all ages.
DeleteEspecially love the dog balloons.
ReplyDeleteRasmaSandra: They are good aren't they?
DeleteBalloons = Happiness
ReplyDeleteHave a pleasant Easter Sunday!
contempladoraocidental: Certainly they equal happiness to me. Happy Easter to you and yours.
DeleteIt’s still Saturday here, but I did mine. Blogger wouldn’t let me post too many!
ReplyDeleteDanielle: I will be over to check them out in a bit. Blogger delights in messing with our mind doesn't it?
DeleteDear EC
ReplyDeleteSome lovely memories of these fantastic balloons. There is something majestic about them.
Happy Easter, by the way!
I hope all is well.
Best wishes
Ellie
Ellie Foster: As you know I think that balloons are wonderful. Some of them are majestic and they all lift my heart.
DeleteHappy Easter to you and yours.
I love all your amazing balloons and found that TRex to be quite moving, too. Thanks for the delight.
ReplyDeleteDJan: I am glad I wasn't alone in finding T-Rex moving as it deflated.
DeleteThanks for continuing the Sunday Selections tradition—it's always a joy to see what themes you explore! Wishing River a smooth recovery, and looking forward to your balloon finale before the next obsession begins.
ReplyDeleteroentare: Most of my obsessions are more mundane than the balloons.
DeleteLaura Eno - I love the balloons, and your look backs to other years. Thank you for that. Yes, the T-Rex deflating showed his doom rather poetically. My favorites are always the animals and birds.
ReplyDeleteI hope you’re having a pleasant day and your week ahead isn’t grinding. Hugs to you and homage to the overlords.
Laura Eno: This coming week will be grinding but less so than previous weeks. I hope. Much love to you.
DeleteI really love those balloons. Happy Easter.
ReplyDeleteLinda's Relaxing Lair: So do I. Happy Easter to you too.
DeleteI especially like the dog balloons. Penelope wants to know if holding her breath will make her float in the sky. I was sorry to disappoint her. Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Janie Junebug: Poor Penelope. I wish I could fly too. Happy Easter to you and your furry family.
DeleteAww, the puppy dog with its head above the trees is so cute.
ReplyDeleteAndrew: I have taken lots of shots of the feature balloons from that vantage spot.
DeleteLove the moon shot in between all the gorgeous balloons. I think I like T-Rex best, though he didn't fly.
ReplyDeleteRiver: T-Rex flew other mornings (and I saw it once briefly) just not on the morning we were there. That moonshot was taken from home just before we headed off to the balloons.
DeleteIt's always nice to see the balloons.
ReplyDeletemessymimi: I am glad you share my fondness for them.
DeleteThese are fabulous!
ReplyDeletee: I am so glad you like them.
DeleteThe creativity is staggering. I've never seen balloons anything like these. Your moon shot has reminded me of the shots you used to share that included two trees... are the trees still there?
ReplyDeleteKim: The twin trees are still here, but frequently have a big van parked in front of them these days - new neighbours and their carers.
DeleteI especially love the beagle and the soccer ball. They are all great, though.
ReplyDeleteBleubeard and Elizabeth: I can never choose a favourite. This week I think it is T-Rex though.
DeleteSend that big green critter here--- we need him to eat some bad guys.
ReplyDeleteBill: T-Rex came to visit us from your side of the world. I hope you can feed the bad guys to him.
DeleteYour T. rex balloon is very current for me given the last book I reviewed!
ReplyDeleteDavid M. Gascoigne: I thought of that when I read your post.
DeleteI missed the opportunity to ride in a traditional hot air balloon at Alice Springs. Seeing these sets my imagination to work.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, EC.
Marie Smith: I am sorry you missed that opportunity - but then I am biased. Enjoy your week too.
DeleteQuants colors i quanta alegria!
ReplyDeleteA mi m'han robat el cor el beagle i la lluna. ;-)
Aferradetes, Sue.
sa lluna: Thank you so much. Have a wonderful week.
DeleteHi EC - they are gorgeous and must be so much fun to be around ... wonderful creativity abounding on or off the ground - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteHilary Melton-Butcher: They are a heap of fun. I don't like crowds but that is always a very happy crowd.
DeleteWhat amazing balloons! And poor T-Rex, subsiding slowly to the earth again. That would have tugged at my heartstrings, too.
ReplyDeleteDiane Henders: Who knew that a long gone dinosaur could successfully yank our heart strings.
DeleteThe balloons are amazing and I do like the beagle and T Rex.
ReplyDeleteThat is also a very nice photograph of the moon you've included here.
I've been enjoying the Easter weekend with family.
Sending good wishes to you.
All the best Jan
Lowcarb team member ~Jan; I am glad you have been enjoying the weekend with your family. When I snapped that moon just before we headed off early one morning I took it as a good sigh - and it was.
DeleteI was about to ask if the balloons flew in the year of the Covid shutdown . . . And there they were! I can understand the emotion of watching the dinosaur deflate. I well up over such things too. Thank you for these delightful photos of the balloons. The beagle's head rising above the treetops is both surreal and amusing :) Take care of youself, dear friend.
ReplyDeletejenny_o: The Balloon Spectacular was the last event we had in the Covid era. At the time my city had no cases and there were very few in the country. How quickly that changed.
DeleteHugs to you - and please take your own advice.
Happy times are important
ReplyDeleteCloudia: That they are. For all of us.
DeleteT Rex is a bit frightening even in balloon form. I'd run for cover too. The big dogs are my favorite of this group I think.
ReplyDeleteStrayer: Blogger is eating my comments. I wasn't at all afraid of T-Rex but I enjoyed the dogs too.
DeleteToo bad T-Rex didn't fly high in the sky, but cute, nevertheless. Those balloons are so fun to look at. Lucky you!
ReplyDeletegigi-hawaii: Lucky us indeed. This festival is a must see each and every year.
Deletethecontemplativecat here. The balloons are fantastic! I cannot imagine being there!
ReplyDeleteSusan Kane: I love them too - and the excitement of the crowd is palpable.
DeleteThose balloons are just amazing. Lots of artistry. Wishing you a healthy, happy day, my friend.
ReplyDeleteSandra sandracox.blogspot.com
Sandra Cox: Thank you for your generous wishes - and your appreciation of the balloons.
DeleteYour collection of balloon photos are truly impressive, and I love watching them!
ReplyDeleteCharlotte (MotherOwl): They are great aren't they and I am glad to have so many folders with balloon photos to enjoy.
DeleteWow! I love the doggy ones. And the bird. Very, very cool. What fun.
ReplyDeleteThe Happy Whisk: Very, very, very cool.
DeleteComo te dije en la entrada anterior sobre estas exhibiciones de globos, me encantan por lo creativos que son todos, por su tamaño, y por esa pincelada de color y alegría que tienen que ser al verlos volar.
ReplyDeleteUn cordial saludo, amiga Sue.
Manuel: Thank you so much. You are so right about the burst of colour and joy.
