The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life.  Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle.

I usually run with a theme. Some of you just might have noticed that I have a passion for colour.  There is lots of it about at the moment.  So as I so often say, come wander with me.  Or more accurately come wobble with me.  My feet and legs are significantly swollen at the moment and walking is a bigger challenge than usual.

I like this mural on the side of a local church.  I also like their stance on climate change and refugees.

New murals are popping up at one of our bus interchanges.  I hope they spread.

And in other news, please spare a thought for Lee.  Her area was hit hard by a storm on Christmas Eve and many people are still without power.  The powers that be hope to have people connected again this weekend or early next week.  I do hope that the lack of power is the worst that happened to her.

Charlotte(MotherOwl) had surgery last week.  I hope she is recovering well.  If you get the chance please stop by both of their blogs and wish them well.

I usually run with a theme. The week just gone has been difficult. Summer has finally arrived and my MS is thriving.  Much more importantly both kittens are in trouble again and we have spent much of the week with the vet. Odie has yet another respiratory infection and diarrhea. Batty is in more serious trouble. We noticed he was limping badly and had trouble getting onto things. Multiple xrays and tests later the ugly truth was revealed. He has luxating patellas. Essentially his knees dislocate. His hips are not good either and he has a weak rear hock. We were given anti inflammatories and painkillers for him (combined in the one dose in liquid form). And of course the medication disagreed with him. More negotiations with the vet. We have a week to try and get the condition under control - after which it will mean a trip to a specialist vet.  Poor Batty.  Poor, poor Batty.  He is mostly a happy chap though and demands pats and continues to purr loudly. He also still insists on climbing into laps, onto the chairs and onto the bed, despite it being more difficult. The vet thinks his problems are congenital, and has suggested the same is true of Odie's recurrent infections. 

 That chair is a favoured spot for both of them - they can look out the window at the birds and keep an eye on what is happening in the room.

Most of you are well aware that I am a beauty addict. Even on difficult days/weeks I find it.

We also went back to the shopping centre in which I discovered the emu/meeyou murals I showed you in last week's Sunday Selections.  It is a small suburban shopping centre but there are other murals there as well.  Himself loved them too.  The alley they are down is too narrow to get a photo of the whole, but here are some more images.

I usually run with a theme. While I continue to take photos (lots of photos) in the garden I am going somewhere different this week.

The nearest shopping centre of any size that we frequent is much like other shopping centres, a largely characterless mall.  However they have brightened up the approach by putting murals in the underground parking area.  I don't like all of them, but I DO like that they are there.  I got some very strange looks as I wandered through camera in hand.  How sad, never mind.

Next week's Sunday Selections will be different again (I hope).  I have rather a lot of medical appointments and some ongoing commitments to meet.  However on Wednesday afternoon I hope to get a long awaited treat.  A treat which fires, the corona virus and some specific challenges have postponed.  Barking is involved, but no dogs... Feel free to guess what my treat is, though I won't give it away until next week.

Like River I usually run with a theme.  This has been a very, very busy week.  I am returning to Sunday Selections' origins and posting photos which have been languishing (perhaps for good reason).

Murals I have spotted while out and about.

This one was installed in the centre of town after gay marriage was legalised.  And, which I hope to photograph soon, the 'walking man' on pedestrian lights in town has been replaced with a walking gay couple.

The three images above are on the boards covering the old post-office as it is repurposed.  I think the horned and crowned figure in the first is a tad odd.  And I don't know whether it is winking or has a problem with its eye.

 The bus murals are at the bus interchange.  I wonder whether when our trams are up and running (which appears to have been delayed) there will be tram murals at their stops.
