Sunday Selections #781

Sunday Selections was originally brought to us by Kim, of Frogpondsrock, as an ongoing meme where participants could post previously unused photos languishing in their files. Huge thanks to Cie who gave me this wonderful Sunday Selections image.

The meme was then continued by River at Drifting through life.  Sadly she has now stepped aside (though she will join us some weeks), and I have accepted the mantle.

The rules are so simple as to be almost non-existent.  Post some photos under the title Sunday Selections and link back to me. Clicking on any of the photos will make them embiggen.

I usually run with a theme. This week is a bit same old, same old.  I am an early riser and at my best, such as it is, in the early morning.  Our currently frosty early mornings.  I know that many of you are struggling in oppressive heat and hope these cool weather photos cool you down.

They haven't been hard frosts - it is nowhere near cold enough to freeze bubbles, but the frosts are definitely a happening thing.

I mentioned last week that there is always something in bloom.  The following cymbidium orchid blooming on my veranda surprised me - but it is welcome anyway.

In a week or two I hope to post photos from a much more exciting excursion.

Have a wonderful week.

I usually run with a theme.  This week just for a change (not) I am going back to the sadly neglected garden. I have been focusing on the kittens and walking is challenging at the moment so weeding is out of the question and the weeds are going gang-busters. Just the same there is still beauty there.

The bud on the cactus is one I hope not to miss. They come out at night and only last a day and sadly one did bloom while I wasn't looking last week.

I welcome rainbows anywhere I see them - which includes on the carpet.

The kittens are doing a little better this week.  Odie is not sneezing nearly as much and Batty's patellas are not dislocating quite as frequently.  Just the same as I prepare this post I am waiting for the vet to ring.  The vet rang (nearly eleven hours later). She is happy with Batty's progress. Continue the medication (we will have to pick up a new script) and bring him back for an assessment next Friday. Fingers crossed.

I hope you find beauty in your week(s) too.

I usually run with a theme. This week is again a bit same old, same old.

The possum has come back to visit us again (and is still staying out of our roof space).  The apple he is eating is one we put out for the birds (but we don't begrudge him enjoying it).  People with apple trees in the area will probably be happier if he is eating with us...

Then to Odie.  The poor kittens were very sick for quite a while, and Odie was the sicker of the two.  They finally seem to have picked up (and moved away from the one step forward, two steps back dance).  Odie is enjoying playing in a shopping bag here.

Batty was fast asleep at the time.  I had forgotten how noisy kittens can be as they 'thunder' through the house.

I am finishing with something completely different.  Our roadside mowing is way, way behind.  And this week as I gazed at the dandelions I realised I would never have seen the golden carpet if our local council was up to date.

I hope you find beauty in your week too.
